Weekend is over...what did you get done?

sure thing, man.
no it wasn't me, i don't think. i haven't been to cool springs in a little while, and i usually try to be far, far away when the wife is shopping for clothes, lol. unless it's at victoria's secret, bow chica wow wow.
EDIT: oh yeah, and for that seal, it actually makes a big difference if you put grease on the axleshaft before you slide in it, and try to make sure that the grease is there at the seal. it makes it seal a lot better. i actually went all the way to wooly's and wheeled and camped for a weekend without that seal because i was in a hurry. it actually wasn't too bad, i just made sure to bring extra gear oil, and when i parked i tried to flex it out with the passenger front tire stufed everytime.

Do you also need the chevy stub? Also what about the caliper mount and caliper?

Waggy stub shaft, waggy calipers and brackets.

Basically, all you have to do is swap the spindles to chevy spindles, put ford hubs and rotors on and bolt it all back together. That's it.

Then, just convert your rear axle to the same pattern by which ever method you prefer. I'm buying adapters since I need the 8.8 to be about an inch wider to match the front.

I'm excited about having lockouts!

That's right. I forgot you were talking about a waggy front so you can just use the waggy stuff like you said.

whew.... memphis and back today. brought back a dead ford ranger, its my stepdads the he gave to his son, overheated in traffic and either blew a headgasket and or warped the heads, im suspecting both.... but ima put it all back together and give it a new lease on life.... were all kind of attached to it, its bailed everyone out of a jam way more than once

broke something in my welded dana 35? not really sure. no noises, but it doesn't chirp tires in parking lots now, and doesn't get sideways as easily. think i either broke the welds, or a spider gear, or maybe a shaft(not a c-clip axle). i guess i'll jack it up and spin the wheels and see what happens. nothing would surprise me, lol.

you broke the welds.... if you broke anything else in there you would know it very very quickly

yeah... and get in there quick, if there are bits of metal floating around inside it, they will chew up your ring&pinion very quickly.

I guess it's probably a non c-clip d35 since it's an 84, but still, you should get in there immediately if not sooner. My bet is on shredded spider(s) or a cleanly broken shaft.

yeah, i got in there... broken welds and ugly spiders. i'm gonna weld it back up as soon as i can. that's what i get for not pulling the carrier, doing it with an antique stick welder, and not really cleaning things well beforehand. oh well- at least it's just a dana 35.

pull the carrier, put it in the parts washer, and then burn it home with a good 220 welder, and when i say home i mean gear to gear and gear to carrier.... only then can proper dana 35 carnage resume ;)

just ordered some 6.5" coils and hd tie rod... the build begins....

Another day at Lee County Mud racing. It started out cold and wet, but the racing was very competitive, a lot of rigs broke from going all out, one roll over, and some seriously muddy trucks and people. Krusty ran well, he has some serious competition that showed they are ready for next year (2JZ-GTE Toyota).

Had the best bday party ever today. My girlfriend had me completely fooled and threw me a surprise party with EVERYONE! My whole family, all my friends, EVERYONE! It was great!

I'll post a picture of my cake, it was cool as hell! I just gotta get it online.

Indeed. Despite the rain and cold it was still a good way to end the season.

After getting home from Lee County around Midnight last night, I spent today loading up the truck and moving back to Concord. I'll be re-joining the hell that is Automotive Retail tomorrow morning at 7:30.

Nothing jeep related, but last night I flew my first MEDEVAC mission to the location of an IED blast that injured U.S. Troops. We landed on the road and were being very vigiliant in watching for enemy wanting to take pop shots at us. A very exciting and scary moment that I will most likely never forget.
