Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Not the weekend fellas, but it's been a really rough couple of days, with many more to follow. my dad was in a terrible car crash in Jackson, Tn Tuesday night, and was very seriously injured. he was helicopterred to vanderbilt in nashville, and has been on the 10th floor in the trauma intensive care unit since he got there. he still hasn't been conscious, and they have done several hours of emergency surgery to stop bleeding in his brain, reconstruct his face and skull, and reset the bones in his right leg and left arm. he has more surgery coming over the next few days, and is still somewhat stable. he is starting to move around a bit, and the doctors are starting to get an idea that he will get better over time. they have told us that he won't ever be the same, and that he won't be going home for several months. please pray for my dad and our family, and that the doctors are able to do what it takes to keep him alive. i think he'll eventually be ok, but it's a long road ahead for ol' pops.

Our prayers are with your Dad and your family.

thanks Ed. i'm about to go back to the hospital to see what the progress is. he's out of surgery again, and they found a collapsed lung, and some broken ribs that they overlooked before, in the shadow of the massive head trauma. things are still looking up, though.

We'll keep your dad and family in our prayers too.

I need some wheel spacers.. should i spend the coinage and get some spidertracs or just some generic ones?

thanks guys. things are getting better every few hours. my dad woke up and was fully conscious for the first time since the wreck a few minutes ago. they sedated him again, though, to keep him from further injuring himself. mom said he was able to open his eyes, and that he can actually see, which was somethin they were worried about. it seems like we get good news every few hours, so hopefully buy the end of next week he'll be able to breathe on his own, and be conscious without danger. i really love my dad, and i hope things keep getting better. positive energy of any sort is appreciated.

Excellent news. We'll keep praying for him.

Really great to hear progress. Sounds like your old man is a tough cookie. I'll keep thinking about him.

Yesterday I got underneath the front end, replaced and torqued a couple of items, and have my wobble under control. It's not gone, but it is a huge relief to get it to this point.

Today has been a lot of errands and cleaning packing as I get ready to leave Sunday for Cullowhee NC. I will be up there for a month for a EMT intensive and the NOLS WUMP(Wilderness Upgrade for Medical Professionals) class. I'm very excited as I was only on the wait-list until a couple days ago. During my free time I can play hard; mtn. biking at Tsali, hiking, climbing, and some light wheeling at Moses Creek.

Very excited.

Hope he gets better. Thought and prayers are with you and your family. I spent 3 months in the hositol after a car wreck stick close to him and visit often.

Became unemployed today (it was planned though). If nothing happens in the next few days, my worst nightmare will come true (moving back home with the folks :wow: )

Got the Treadwrights mounted and balanced today. Brought them home to install them, got all the way to the last wheel and wrecked 3 studs. Spent the next hour or so driving around town trying to get the studs and lug nuts.

Packing and heading for TN tomorrow. Pops bought a dirt bike located north of Nashville (almost to Kentucky from what he told me tonight). Leaving town first thing in the morning and driving 8 hours out there. Originally planned to turn around and drive 8 hours back, but I think I may have him convinced to stay put tomorrow night and drive back Sunday.

well, they've done a lot of surgery on my dad over the past few days, and he's making more progress every day. a lot of swelling and bruising has gone down, and he's starting to look more like my dad. for the most part, everything is going to plan and he's been stable since wednesday! he'll still be in the hospital for a while, and they probably won't let him wake up for a week or so, but at least things are going the way the doctors want them to in the direction of recovery. thanks for your thoughts and prayers, guys, it really means a lot to me and the family.

put a hatch on it all by my lonesome today it looks like a jeep again im pleased to say... still have to do plugs and wires, cut the lower quarters and change the motor mounts but i have tomorrow night off so it should be pretty productive.... its running a little rough but it has mismatched plug wires, the spare plugs of nicks that i installed at the crawl, and gas from early august in the tank.... so hopefully changing a lot of that will remedy it

Wound up doing a blitz to Bethpage TN and back. 16+ hours of driving in one day is more than enough for me.

Oh, and here's a pic of the Cragars and Treadwrights:

Me and April went to the Birthday Bash in Simpsonville last night! We had a blast. April got to see her favorite band and got to shake the lead singers hand!

Fiver Finger Death Punch, Skillet, Fuel, and Royal Bliss were all there. They all sounded great!

I'd say the best part was the drummer for Skillet doing a solo! She was awesome!

^fuel sounded great because they were lip synching. i've seen them live, and my friend was the soundman. just thought you should know.

my dad is slowly getting better, and might be awake and coherent in the next few days. he's coming right along! i finally feel comfortable leaving the hospital, so i'll be going back to school and work tomorrow. thanks guys for your thoughts and prayers!

hmmm, I didnt catch that. We got there about half way thru hearing Fuel. I was walking down to the stage when they were playing... They sounded good from a distance but I wasn't close enough to really watch and see if they were lip syncing. Regardless, It was a good show.

Btw, I hope your ol man gets better. I've been beside my step dads ICU bed a few times with heart problems. I know how it feels. Hang tough, He'll pull thru.

jeep work.... got the tune up done.... didnt know it would run on black spark plugs :dunno: but apparently it will do so poorly. took it for a spin to gas station (a very cold spin) and put fresh fuel in it.... runs mucho better. recalibrated the tps again and it runs pretty good, i still need the hesco renix tps adapter. still need to get the mounts done and put my new muffler in it
