Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Paint it desert tan.

To get a little back on topic, just got back from the Pull-A-Part. Got a set of 297 u-joint axle assemblies for the front of the Teal Bitch out of a 97, got two e-fans out of a 96 and 99. AND for the wifes XJ, I scored one of those fancy overhead consoles out of a 99 limited with all of the digital rocket surgery info, now I just gotta figure how to wire it up.

I love Cash 4 Clunkers. Now the Junk Yard is full of awesome parts. Too bad they wont let you get the engines or heads...

The wife managed to untie herself from the from bumper. Kids escaped handcuffs on the safari rack. So all hell's broken loose.

Finished the cooling system upgrade, by getting the (2) over-ride switches (force on, & force off) for the (3) 1100 CFM electric fans connected.

Connected the abandoned integral radiator transmission cooler to the power steering - so now it's a power steering cooler.

Removed the OEM radio antenna & installed a HARADA motorized & amplified antenna. Installed a toggle ( to right & below radio) to raise & lower based upon brush/branches. It is connected to the radio power lead, so that it also goes down when ignition goes off, to automatically raise/lower (if toggle is in UP position) to prevent vandalism/accidental breakage. Fringe reception is SOOO much better with the 15db gain on the amplified antenna!

Removed the OEM fender flares & mounting brackets, undercoated the inner fenders & under chassis. Installed (4) new wheel well liners (backside connectors only), in anticipation of attaching TJ flares this weekend. I'll trim the liners & create new attachment points once the flares are on.

I'll cut some tin & get those flares mounted next weekend. Plan on connecting the TJ marker lights to the front turn signals, so that they are markers and signals, for added safety when I'm towing the XJ.

dang dude! i like the antenna stuff! it's a great idea! come to tennessee and show us how to do it! if i had a nickel for evey antenna i've knocked off my xj, i'd have like 4 nickels by now....:gee:

sweet! LOL! so were you one of the ones that stayed in the stadium at their own risk while the flood gates in the sky were opened up upon the plains? i watched the game on TV. didn't know if we would pull through or not...

war eagle!

We stayed, but we have Scholarship tickets, and the seats are under the upper deck overhang. One of the best crowds I have ever seen. 3.7" of rain fell! The best was when they played CCR "Have you ever seen the rain". Almost as good as the AU/GA game in the early 80's when the tornado went by. Most people did seek shelter in the covered concessions/concourse ares, but not the student section - they stayed out in it (no assigned seats so if you leave you loose your seat). The only bad part was we didn't get home until 3:30 am. I'm too old for that! LOL

Did you see Rick Burgess?

Drove to Winston to pick up my lenses from the eye doctor, popped into Costco to have my tires rotated, balanced, and new lugs installed. Got mom to take me to the store and stock me up on some food while I was home :D. Sold my old seats to my friend's brother for his XJ on my way back to Charlotte. Finally back and going to bed...stupid 8am classes rule my life!

Oil change and pads and rotors on the front of the GF's Acura. Gettin cleaned up to take it on about a 2 hour drive to see her family for the evening.

Well the trip to see her family turned out to be a trick....got surprised by a steak dinner at Outback followed by going to see Chevelle (pretty much my favorite band) play in Uptown Charlotte. I'm pretty certain this has been one of the best nights ever!

Haha..yes I did...9am actually..so compared to my 8am classes, it was kinda like sleeping in. Thankfully I have tomorrow off so I actually get to sleep in some more!

The concert was amazing...definitely the best concert i've seen. They played a few from their new album and several of their hits. And no, it wasn't my birthday! She had been planning this for a while...been telling me since Labor Day that she had a surprise for me.

Saturday:

Tyler & Dan stopped by the house in the am to drop off my new-to-me 8.8 axle with 4.10 gears. Now to find a front D30 with 4.10's and I'm golden. Had a good visit.

I installed a new set of motor mounts. Went stock Autozone jobbies just to get the XJ back on the road. Wasn't as bad as I thought. I followed XJStryker's write up and everything went pretty smooth.

Other than an insane day at work today...nothing.

We did do some Jeep dreaming & planning. Maybe tomorrow we can finish cleaning out the barn (have to make room for the Jeep, currently it's out of town so we can't work on it). I did accidently talk to a guy who does powdercoating, so that's an awesome contact to have!

Dan and I got this done... :guitar:

Haha, we went to Nashville's famous 2nd avenue and partied until 3:30 AM this morning. The first 2 were at the Coyote Ungly saloon, and the last one was at Graham Central Station. I told the hot little blond bartender it was Dan's 21st B-day, so she filled a funnel/tube contraption with ice cold PBR; before I could tell her Dan don't drink... so she said I had to drink it, lol. The club cheered "Dan! Dan! Dan!" while I drank his beer lol. Haha, i'd drink anything she poured down my throat! ;)

But... in the first 2 pics, the girl on my left in the blueish colored dress satisfied me with a body shot of Patron. The delivering Bartender wasn't bad at all either! Had a ton of fun!

Glad we got that 8.8 to you Ed, not we just gotta get you a SYE and matching gears for the front and I can put it in for you.
