Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I requested a bunch of parts through autozone that didn't arrive due to bad weather, so still have a lot of work left to do.

Got my tire off a destroyed rim onto the new one, took apart both front hubs/bearings/spindles, cleaned up a rusty spare spindle to replace the bad one. repaired the broken brake hard line, painted up the new brake caliper, and repaired my alternator. Still waiting on front bearings and spindle nuts, rear brake rotor and wheel studs so I can finish.

Got several hours more work done on this old drill press I'm restoring as well.

Went to Hayesville, NC with the Girlfriend to celebrate our one year of being together. She's a great girl too! Spent most of Friday with my friend Andy who owns Ironman4x4fab. She played with his kids while we worked/removed some sway a way shocks I bought off him and removed off his race xj. Saturday went for a drive and waterfall hunting. Hiked some to see it better too! Sunday I went over to Murphy, NC. Visited Crawfords, Durhamtown Tellico, and even walked the old Tellico trails. See my other post here if you are interested. Had the best weekend in a very long time with an amazing gal!

Hey Mike! I ran a spark test with my spark tester and all 6 are sparking at the wires....... I'll try and do a compression test soon too. I personally did not hear what you heard. I could tell a huge difference with one cylinder not firing though.

It could've just been an injector hanging, then. One of mine will hang occasionally and flood the one cylinder when I shut the engine down. It'll make it skip after restarting till it clears itself (30 seconds to a minute). Maybe that's all it was. Have you checked the compression lately, or a leakdown test? Your comment about the 4.0 not having enough power a while back just leads me to believe something's just not right. Of course it's entirely possible that I'm wrong. I do that a lot :dunce:

Picked up tcase with sye already installed for the xj.

Compression test is next. I don't think I know how or have what is needed to do a leak down test. Is that to test the valves?

Just ordered some DOM for some changes and to mount my shocks.......

Picked up some more parts and sheet metal for my DD xj, as well as seam sealer for my patches.
I didn't run beads around the perimeters, just tacked every 2 inches. Think it'll be ok? Gotta be at least as good as self tapping screws, right?

Finally got the parts in that I ordered from autozone on Sunday. Their truck hasn't been making it's rounds from the hub in Nashville because of the weather. And, looks like we're due for some more snow and ice this afternoon. But if all goes well, I'll have a functional jeep again by the end of the weekend!

Steel just got delivered! That was fast! Loading the jeep this afternoon for the work day tomorrow! Come help us out in the cold tomorrow!!!!!

My sister officially made me an uncle around 10:15pm Friday, so I spent most of the weekend running back and forth across the state visiting and helping out the rest of the family.

Did a little wheelin.

Gulches.... again.... you really need to get out more..... :dunce:

Worked at URE this past weekend...... Unsuccessfully tried to get the 2wd tow rig and jeep to the ure double parking lot. Ended up being one of the only people who could navigate the back side of the Daniel Trail dragging guardrail to the work sites. Spent all afternoon till about 6 doing that. Had a different passenger each trip too!

Sunday I cleaned the ghost with LG and painted some on the new to me shop table. Rain made for moisture in the air and slow dry times.

URE thread!

If there were another park as close with some challenging trails I'd be there too. ;)

I'll be at your favorite park shortly.

I got my jeep mostly running, time to hit the trails and break it again!

Meet us at DT on the 21'st! Murphy, NC. Some of the guys are staying at Crawfords Campground. I'm getting a cabin in Hayesville about 30 min away. Post up if you can make it and I'd be interested in how far you are from it. I suspect not much more then 3 or 4 hours at the most.

Looks like about 4 hours. How many days of wheeling?

I'm not likely to wheel much more then Saturday. I have 5 or more hours to drive to get there so that will be my Friday. This is more of a scouting trip but I was trying to get some of the West guys to come and see what they thought. This place has the potential to be a great spot for everyone to meet and some what in the middle of the chapter. I know the easy and moderate guys will like it. There is one trail that is 12 miles long and goes from the main property to 3 of the outlying properties. The furthest property borders on the old Tellico OHV property.
