We need a chapter cage builder.

Im lookin foward to MM's cage builds. I hope I can be involved.

Well my welding isn't the prettiest all the time (have my days), but it's plenty strong. I will just have to take my time to try to make them pretty, and use a grinder occasionally if necessary. I am great welding when I have plenty of room, like on bumpers, and etc, its when I have to weld at wierd angles, and in tight places (like on a cage) that they don't end up looking too great.

Only one way to learn...
If you get a big batch of tubing, you can use 10' or so and chop it up into small lengths and use it to practice with.

That is kind of my plan. I can't wait. I am headed to my shop this afternoon to pick up my chop saw, and bender, and then taking it back to my garage at the house. I plan on doing this at the house instead of the shop since it will just be more convenient that way.

I would just want an exo that can be removed during the week and put back on for the weekend wheelin

That much tubing weighs a fair bit and would be very awkward to remove and put on. Doable? sure. But not something I would want to do on a regular basis.

Yeah it would probably weigh several hundred pounds. I guess you could hang a winch or hoist in a tree, but it would still be a job for several people.

Well when you start make sure you make a build thread here in the chapter forum since no one else has one. that way i have something interesting to read/look at in this forum :D

Oh i intend to!!! I have no problem with everyone else learning from my mistakes. LOL

Did you get HREW or DOM?

BTW, here is one my cousin and I did in his TJ. Still needs to be tied into the fram and some speaders from the windshield to the B hoop but this is basically it.
