Hey all. I'm looking to score a 97-01 xj as a donor truck for another project. Looking for axles, spare trans ax-15 spare np231...don't really need a motor. But if its blown or.something I'll take it. Mainly however. I'm looking for a complete interior for a 97-01 xj. Dash, front seats, center console, gauge, interior wiring harness, front door panels, switches, controls, windows, regulators. Also looking for the front clip. Grill, headlight surround, front fenders, maybe the hood. Everything to do a 97+ conversion. Thank you, I'm located in death valley CA.

FYI Noah AX-15 is tough to find. I'd buy up any late body you can find that has your conversion / interior parts and look for the '94+ AX-15 separately.

So is this for 'lil gomer? If so your going to want two 97+ front doors, a 2 door window switch and panel along with the rest of the interior. Are you also planning on converting the engine bay to 97+ as well?

97 with no tags from DMV - make sure it isn't hot.

99 with blown trans. Might be a better deal in the long term. Mate that motor to an A-15, find an ECU from a late model manual (if needed).

Look for this sort of thing. You might be able to find something cheap. You may need more than one donor vehicle.

And, Mark, yes, this is for 'lil Gomer. Fortunately, big Gomer doesn't need this kind of transplant - yet.

Gomer doesn't need it yet......Gomer has had all of this 3 fold!!!!!! What is original in Gomer other than.....1 or two body panels?
Hey, the left front valve cap is original!

I looked at that one, It's a total trainwreck. It's been crashed and alot of things in the engine bay are hacked up. Also the interior looks like it's been rolling around in a greasy junkyard and it stunk of smoke. It's not stolen, but they had some long crazy story about how it's a friends sister's baby mama's cousin's jeep and they showed me the paperwork they have for it and the title was junked. What I think happened is it was crashed and the insurance paid it out and they never gave the jeep to the insurance.

I'd go for that 99 and if needed I might know a guy that can make you a manual trans late model ecu.

Once I actually find a donor Jeep I might just have to meet this person you know ;) This 99 seems to be not panning out well. they haven't contacted us back for the last day and a half. so im going to count this one as being a dud....oh well. I need another week or more to save up some money. I just spent 600 bucks on building materials for a shed so that all my stuff and parts aren't sitting outside in the elements the whole time.
wood is kind of expensive.....oh well....
If anybody finds something in their area let me know. ill see what I can do.

I have lots of things I need to do to this jeep before shes on the road anyway, so I really don't need to be in a hurry to find a donor. I need to put the trans back together and put a new clutch and do the external slave set up. If somebody can point me to the parts and a write up on someone that has done this set up that would be awesome so that i can start researching it and getting familiar with what i need to be doing.

Yea I seem.to remember hearing about a geeky old geezer I know having to fight the same.issue.

I was just thinking about this tho. Is there really any advantage of me.going to a 94+ ax-15 over the one I have now if I do the external slave conversion?

Not really. You just need to find the external slave bellhousing and associated parts.

The problem with finding the ext slave bellhousing is, most of the time people want as much for that alone as a used ax-15 would typically cost.

Do you happen to know what model trucks you could get that bell housing off of....if.I were to.find one kind.of.thing. I'm planning on putting a new clutch in my ax-15 on lil' gomer and if I can find one I'll put the ext slave on.

Id say the ax15 external slave parts are worth more than a used ax15...

If you cant afford to play, stay internal slave, no big deal.

The prices are where theyre at, because people like me will gladly pay ~$250 for the parts to convert to external. Its money well spent.

Is there any difference between the 2wd bellhousing and the 4wd?

I ask because I have seen the 2wd in the Pick Your Part.
