The one on my 98 is bent. It was in an accident, and I pulled the wheel and drum to look, jacked the rear up and ran it. Sure enough, the flange is bent on the shaft. I didn't notice till some friends told me about it on the way out to the desert this weekend.

I'm not sure about the brakes. For now, I am assuming they are good. if they aren't I'll probably grab a backing plate and drum from a junkyard.

My understanding of it though is that the 97 and up were the ones with the 29 spline axles, and there are none of those in the junkyard near me.

This Jeep is going to stay stock for a while and basically be a DD. I've got new tires on the way for it, and would really like a straight axle shaft before I put new tires on it.

So, I'd just like a straight, unbent stock shaft to replace mine.

Anyone? If ya got one, let me know what you'd want for it.

Thanks!

The driver's side and passenger side are equal length.

I have two spares. Might be willing to part with one of them.

I could meet you somewhere halfway tomorrow.

Sent your PM back.

Didn't know they were equal length, that's kinda neat very few axles I've run across are like that.

I can give you my old one if you want... runs fine, would get you off the trail and then some in a pinch... that way you'd still have two spares. Or, I could keep the bent one for a spare of my own... either way.

Thanks.
