The one on my 98 is bent. It was in an accident, and I pulled the wheel and drum to look, jacked the rear up and ran it. Sure enough, the flange is bent on the shaft. I didn't notice till some friends told me about it on the way out to the desert this weekend.
I'm not sure about the brakes. For now, I am assuming they are good. if they aren't I'll probably grab a backing plate and drum from a junkyard.
My understanding of it though is that the 97 and up were the ones with the 29 spline axles, and there are none of those in the junkyard near me.
This Jeep is going to stay stock for a while and basically be a DD. I've got new tires on the way for it, and would really like a straight axle shaft before I put new tires on it.
So, I'd just like a straight, unbent stock shaft to replace mine.
Anyone? If ya got one, let me know what you'd want for it.
Thanks!
