Walker Valley run, Saturday, Feb. 23rd

cool I'M IN glad to hear it is open run been up to walker many times so meet you there ps rock face is a bitch but just hit it a little harder next time and you might make it up

It's been done in a stock XJ just a few months ago. There are bypasses for most of the nastys but not all. I would expect rocker damage and you'll need to watch your drip rails. I can also think of one stump in particular that really likes doors. I would think that Jeremy will break the group up by vehicle ability and suggest the trails to skip for those who are less armored.

I think your rig would be great in the summer, and you could probably struggle through it now. Conditions were good up there last weekend, but its likely to get sloppier with the rain we are getting. With AT tires and open diffs, you're going to have to hit a few sections hard to get through them because you won't have much traction, and that's where the dents happen. We can try our best to spot you through them an give you an occasional tug if you need it, but I wouldn't guarantee getting through the day without some body damage. If that's OK with you, bring your recovery gear, and we'll see you there.


I also want to add this as a reminder to everybody who is coming. It looks like we might get a good turn out for this run, and big groups can be frustrating if one or more people are under equipped for the trail/conditions.

Here's the basics:

* Equipment List
1.Visibly charged fire extinguisher (BC or ABC)
2.First aid kit
3.Adequate spare tire, jack and lug wrench
4.Safety belts for driver and any current passenger
5.Adequate attachment points in the front and rear of the vehicle:
-Acceptable forms of attachment points: (All Items must be mounted in a manner to provide adequate strength and integrity)
-Tow hooks of OEM or greater integrity
-D-Rings
-Shackle/Clevis
6.20ft 10,000lb snatch strap without any metal hooks
7.Secured battery (no bungee cords)

I need those drip rails for my roof tent:) I don't fully trust my Rusty's tow hook brackets either. I think I'll wait a bit. Thanks, and have fun!
 
looks like i can go, my super dooper wonderful wife said she would stay home with the kids while i go have fun!!!! there is one other rig coming with me too. looking forward to wheelin with everyone!

I have yanked on my crustys brackets pretty hard, they have yet to go anywhere, just attach a tree strap between the hooks and your tow strap to the center of the tree strap so your pulling on both hooks at the same time.
