Walker Valley run, Saturday, Feb. 23rd

Damage report....
Drivers tail light after I thought I made it safely by a tree... bounce, bounce, crunch.
Ripped the rear part of the rack off of the rails.
Gonna do some welding as the stock rails are more for show than anything else.
We had a couple of rigs that had aux. fan problems so check that b4 your next trip!

It was an all xj+1 mj crew today, just trying to put faces to names.

He was with the group of sammies we ran into at the rock face. I was told Gill was also with that group.

I was the 98 green 2 door. What xj were you?

I was the red and black xj with JD in shotgun.
I almost made it up that face going way left to right but no locker in rear (lame) and couldn't quite get enough traction (like everyone).

That's what I thought, so who's zukkev?
What happened to gil4083 (sp)?
Yeah, I'm in a blue Samurai-my rig was up around the corner of the rock face when you guys showed up there, most of you probably didn't see it...

Had a great time today. It was also nice to meet some more NW Chapter Jeeper's! We really lucked out with the weather too. It was beautiful.

I'm uploading a few pictures, and should have a couple up soon. Matt(IXNAYXJ) is going to write a trip report when he gets a chance, and it should have some more pictures in it as well.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that for you Jeremy; I've been warned before:

i showed up a little late and ended up running with some group up the expressway, and then i met up with kevin at the end of that trail and ended up turning around and running back down with his group. i had a blast except for when i got stuck and the guy in the red toyota in front of me just kept going instead of helping me, i wanted to punch him in the face!!!

Hey Gill, sorry about him not helping;Actually he is a good friend (red toyota excab), and I'm sure if he realized you were stuck-he would've stopped to help; Maybe a CB would be a good upgrade for ya'!! Not trying to bash you by anymeans, just my .02....Anyway, I'll be in touch tomorrow sometime-got your #'s;thanks again for comin up!!

Yes, it was a good time on the trail, if a little slow due to the high number of rigs and frequent stops to battle gremlins and minor stucks. I had a good day, less my front Ox failing to hook-up on Expressway rock. Ryan and his buddy (forget his name) rode backseat with me for most of the day, and that 1/4 ton took a toll on my rear leaves. They settled about an inch, and pushed the rubber snubbers right off the bump stops along the trail. I finally had to secure different passage for them, as my now metal bump stops were banging on every corner going down the fire road and my rear tires were rubbing the shit out of my rear bumper caps.

My buddy Adam and I ended up foregoing the swamp area above Expressway rock and turning around due to time constraints, but 88XJ and his buddy were stuck on the rock behind us. After winching him, re-spooling, and winching him again a couple of times, I don't think I saved any time. :D But that's the nature of the beast, stuff happens, we deal and help out.

Now I (and Jeremy) need to dig into those front Oxes and see what the Hell is going on in there.

Whoever's got 'em, post more pics.

That was great of you guys. Thanks alot for your patience. Personally I think I had an off day, Jake kept saying "did you forget how to drive today?"
We argue like a married couple 'cause we both have alot (about 20yrs) of wheeling experience between us but do things completely different!
Hey where are the group pics? How about a new thread for all the pic's?

Whoever he is (ecksjay) maybe it was a non-naxja related event?
This is definitely something you should do if for nothing else to show others how fun these and other "sanctioned" events can be. Get people involved and all.
I wish I had a camera.:bawl:

No worries about the delay getting back down the rock, 88XJ. Like I said, stuff happens, we deal and move on. I always put myself in the other guy's shoes, and I know I would have appreciated help and patience had I been crossed-up on that rock.

I know there are more pics out there, Jeremy said he's post some up. I'm sure someone else there took some as well.

There are more, and Matt took a bunch too. He'll probably post some up tonight.
