Videotaped Death Wobble on lunchbreak

I was thinking of going HD mount untill i saw the bulletproof trackbar. The only thing with that is its not adjustable. You send the measurements and they make it for you.

Exactly, Eventually I wanna go to 6" of lift. Don't most adjustable trackbars max out at 5"-5.5"?

sh!t no. ive got 6.5" of lift and my adj. TB has 2/3 of the threads left inside. could probably run 8" of lift on my adj. TB

Caster is 6.5 degrees, tre's are tight, ball joints tight, bearings tight. Track bar tight. I haven't messed with the tires lately, but I only get dw after hitting a big bump or hole. If tires werent balanced wouldnt i get wobble without pothole inducement? Oh, and yes , I have been investigating dw for quite some time I am just getting around to fixing it. Had to get rid of ball and chain.

DW is when a vibration from one tire is allowed to transer through the truck to the other tire. Why would you have not messed with the tires lately then?

Get them balanced and rotated and see if it makes a difference!

If you have been able to live with DW for quite some time then why not just go on living with it? It is only the safety of you and other people on the street around you that you are putting in jepardy!

If your trackbar is tight why are you considering replacing it?

Only a recommendation, but it you are running Rancho 9000's put them on the softest setting possible and see if it makes a difference also.

Also, is caster 6.5 exactly on both sides? Have you had it professionally aligned?

If you can, replace all of your tie rod ends and drag links rod ends. That's what finally got rid of mine. They hadn't been replaced in 215k miles, so it was about that time :D

This is not my daily driver. I won't drive on the highway till dw is fixed. Usually I drive to induce (try to) dw after fixing a steering component. I got divorced then heavy into dirt bikes so I am just now getting back into the Jeep after about 4 years. I wanna go on a trip but not till dw is gone. I am all for safety bud, nuff said. I will consider replacing the trackbar if nothing else works. Or at least go to HD setup. Caster is 6.5 and 6.7. The shop won.t adjust anything just check and give me a printout, liability they say. And, I really don't like the stock flimsy steering setup. I will have tried rotating the tires with no effect. I will have them balanced. I played with the shocks a while back and it seems it got worse when in softest position. Yhey are set in the middle now.

I had deathwobble on a setup similar to yours with virtually all new stuff....the culprit was worn out upper control arm bushings. Replaced those and it went away. I'm not saying it's your cause but for the $6 per pair can't hurt to change them.

Thats barely DW...

How old is your steering stabilizer?
I was getting real bad DW and as soon as i replaced it with a OE piece from the parts store it went away totally. And I have ~5 inches of lift.

It may be a cheap investment if you know yours is old and even though people may disagree with me, it could be the culprit.
