Whats a decent video editor, want to join mpgs and avi files in short clips into one longer file. Tried MS Movie maker and the end file is really jumpy where the clips I put in to the project are not.

I've tried doing some things with Movie Maker and the outcome was the same. There was always a drop in video quality. I'd be interested in finding an alternative program as well.

Its so annoying when they break those porn movies down into little clips isn't it?

You bet it's a PIA...specially those animal clips....I'm putting together an instructional video for you that graphically demonstrates the differences between waterbuffalo's and heffers.... :wave: :laugh3: trying to get the right balance for 6.1 SS so the subwooffer will rattle the floor joists just for realism... :laugh3:

Virtualdub easily joings clips together, so the linear editing is very easy. The effects and things are very difficult to create because the GUI is so featureless.

Jumps could be keyframes getting out of sync or the output having too high of a bitrate. Moviemaker is plain terrible. It wants to be Apple's editor and fails miserably.
