Video: Commander in "Action"

Sounds like it has lots of creature comforts and safety features, and the available Hemi helps...........

But DAYUM that thing is fugly!!!

Pretty cool, got a lotta 'stuff' in there and some here bitch about the power door locks and window problems LOL. Just has too much stuff for me, I've never liked all that crap, it's just more to break and adds to the price. I just like the basics, good seats, A/C, good engine, traction lsd's or lockers that don't depend on outside actuators or the pumps they use in the quadradrive TC and diffs, the XJ was the epitome of this good design and luckily it has been carried on with the TJ unlimited.

looks like an XJ got drunk and slept with a disco 2. ill keep my XJ thank you.

kinda like an xj on roids. If ball players can use roids why not cars right. Out of the suvs on the market the grandcherokee and that puppy are the only two I think I would consider. I like jeeps so that might be a bit bias, but I've road in others like nexteras and pathfinders and 4runners and don't car for them much. Nice yes they are way nice, but something about them just doesn't do it for me.

With the Liberty, Commander and new Grand Cherokee, haven't all these mentioned SUV's pretty much converged onto the same general design? I don't see any appreciable difference anymore.

Agree, DC/Jeep has lost their individuality and image, about the only thing they still retain is the grill...
Wife has pretty much set her sights on a pickup, one that has an arm rest for her right arm. Problem with the Jeeps and others we have looked at are that the center consoles are fixed and she's short, when she puts the seat all the way up the armrest is back by her elbow which is useless. She needs the support from the damage done by a neck injury a few years ago.

Nice. It comes with a 4.7

They had better work the bugs outta that piece of crap ASAP. We sell them all day long for $2500.00

And for what they want for it....I could by a stocker XJ, beef the hell outtait, give it shiney new paint, and all the bells and whistles and still have $15K in my pocket. Then I'd buy CABIN 12....:D

I'm still waiting on the Rescue.

By the time it comes to market (if?) the name of the rescue may have a double meaning....

nope....I think it's hot. The sexy chrome 4 Lo lever, 3 sunroofs, airdown psi indicator, LED about to be rear-ended indicator, ablity to do 4wd burnouts in sand and the Trail Rated badge have me all aquiver.......and now for something entirely different from upstairs.....

"The G55 AMG is the king of SUVs, combining superiority, control, and strength. The all new supercharged V-8 engine delivers unparalleled power. Commanding look, powerful sound...hear the growl of the G55."

Are those Gwagons still grey market or are they legal now...

They are legal now - at least the luxo-boat versions.

The "strippers" are out there but still command a high price. I was casually looking at some mid-1980s diesels before deciding on a Cherokee.

Galendewagen's are pretty cool. My wife's cousin works at a G-wagen plant in Bavaria. Last time we were their she grabbed a 2" thick pile of the sales lit for me. All in German but pretty cool anyway.

The G-wagen will take 35s with minimal work. The factory offers mild lift springs (1.5"?) and 6.7:1(IIRC) diff gears for this. They have a fairly thick catalogue of hardware like winches and skid paltes as well. It's good quality stuff but like any factory stuff it is uber-expensive.
