So we made it. Over 230 total miles on the RR and the lady took it like a champ. Bike finished at about 42 mpg. Which isn't bad for two up and the big ol hills we were rocking up.

I'll let you try mine whenever we go riding

Thanks man. I was really diggin the xcx. But not sure what I am thinking about the 800 vs a bigger size and a smaller dirtbike for really goofing off. The 800 was great for me. But I have to really look into it for two up a majority of the time.

Just got off the phone with triumph, they are supposed to have their next shipment of Aarow exhausts in in the next week or so, mine should arrive here in a couple weeks then. I was supposed to get the exhaust with the bike when I purchased it as an incentive (w the fog lights and heated grips) but they were on backorder this whole time.

So far it has been a pain in the ass trying to get any parts I've ordered from triumph, not too impressed with parts availability from them.

Swing arm, wheels, forks look like bmw s1kr stuff

Swing arm is Ducati

It's amazing how differently you have to view a trail for a heavy adventure bike vs your jeep. In a jeep it's a simple trail with a few rocks, on the heavy bike it's a maze of boulders trying to smash your ride into bits.

Well was able to swing in some riding last weekend with some buddies from work. Did the Estes to Idaho springs via trail ridge road loop. Weekend traffic in the park sucked. But we took 7 through allenspark to Estes which was a fun twist of the throttle. Then we took a good run down Berthoud Pass :firedevil
Buddy did real well on his cb500 and was able to implement the cornering techniques he had been practicing. Buddy on the R1 did great as well but suffered same issue as myself with the rear tire outperforming the front and pushing through a bit in the curves.

You should head to Provo, UT with me this weekend and grab some In-N-Out. :D

Yesterday I did a 550ish mile loop down HWY-285 to Bountiful, CO to grab this tag

And today I finished it up by making another 150 mile to drop the new Tag off here

That's when you really snap the throttle and drift the rear out like a flat track bike. :firedevil

Picture Time!

I just got home from a three day trip up in the mountains with some friends and when i got home all the parts i had hoped would show up before i left on the trip were waiting for me. I sold the beemer a few weeks ago and used some of the money for panniers. I ended up going with bumot because they have a nice little toolbox that sits opposite of the muffler, they look more symmetrical then most others due to the muffler cutout instead of a skinnier pannier on the RT, they are quick release, and they are completely waterproof.

I was very tired of the turbulence and wind noise caused from the factory windscreen. I didnt want to go with a big giant ugly windscreen so i decided to go with something smaller. I ordered a colormatched speed triple flyscreen and a smoked triumph windscreen and got them fitted to my bike after work and went for a little highway ride tonight. Before and after:

Sucks when the screens are just right to be more a pain than help. Looks good though. How'd the bike do on the 3days. Where'd ya go. Etc etc.

The trip was good, my buddy chris invited me on this trip last winter, a bunch of guys at his work all ride and they all go on a big trip every year. This year they planned 4 days riding around the mounains in northwestern colorado.

Including myself there ended up being 9 of us on the trip, one of those people was the guy that bought my k100 (which he rode on the trip!) Thursday morning we all met in golden and rode up to estes park, took trail ridge road to granby, and ended up in steamboat springs for the night. Day two we rode to glenwood springs and had lunch then rode around some cool roads that i have no real idea where we were, but we ended the day in aspen and stayed in a hostel for the night. Day three we finally left aspen around 11 after we got one of the guys 80something harley to start and stay running, we had lunch in leadville and then got to our destination in winter park at about 4:30.

Most of the guys were older and apart from the first day we didnt come close to breaking 200 miles a day. We rode more the first day, less the second, and even less the third as they all got more and more tired of sitting on their bikes i guess. I ended up just riding home from winter park saturday evening since we got there so early, but everyone else stayed and then rode home sunday morning.

Apart from the late starts every day, huge lunches with lots of beer, and low miles every day haha it was a blast. We rode beautiful roads, stayed in cool places, and the weather was fantastic, overall it ended up being right about 600 miles i put on the bike. It was pretty funny riding with that many different people, all with different kinds of bikes and different riding styles. But i have to say that although i had a great time I think solo trips or taking one or two good friends is more up my alley.

My bike did really good, i got in the mid to upper 50s for gas mileage, and didnt have any problems other then realizing how bad my windscreen buffeting was after riding a bunch of other bikes. This was the first time i spent a good amount of time riding in 10,000+ feet altitude and really noticed how much slower my bike feels. I couldnt believe how much harder my bike pulled in 6th gear when I got onto c470 down here, it felt like a rocket compared to the three days beforehand! Now that i have the new screen and my luggage im itching to get another trip in before it starts snowing up in the mountains.

Oh yeah, me and chris bought senas for our helmets and that completely made the trip! It was such a different riding experience being able to talk to each other whenever we wanted and to communicate with some of the other riders in the group that had headsets too. I definitely recommend a headset/intercom if you ride with people more often then not. We both got the sena 20s and apart from a few glitches here and there (some were operator error) im pretty impressed with them

That's awesome, and I really dig the speed triple fairing setup.

I agree, its fun to ride in a big group but for the most part being solo or with just 1 or 2 good friends that you've ridden with a lot is the best way to go.

Yeah big groups are only good for hood rat shit. For just out enjoying the ride a small group is perfect, just like wheeling.
Feel bad for the guy in the Kawi. They sure aren't fun for a ton of miles day after day.
