Traction bar help continued.....

Ok, I also need to control the axle wrap on my D44 rear with 35's. I understand the idea behind constructing the traction bar in triangular form, but:

1) Why wouldn't just a solid, single bar work? Mounted to a raised and reinforced bracket just a couple of inches above the axle tube? Then the bar at the t-case end would be "fixed" without using the mini shackle. Maybe use a Johnny Joint at that end? (Same concept as the right front upper control arm on most lifts).

2) When using the triangular form, why use a shackle? Seems that the shackle bushings would give a little, but still restrict pivioting movement as one side of the axle raises and the other side drops. Would a design like Richard's - using two heim's - eliminate this binding? (check his pics).

TIA!

You weren't kiddin' Sean! That's about every thing I needed to know! Thanks for that link!!!!
