Tow Hook Bracket went bye bye....

that thing looks strong as hell. A lot of people get all worried about building stuff too stong at it ruining the unibody, what you did is great and will distribute the weight very well.

Not sure why we're arguing about bolts... I think his bolts held fine! :laugh3:

It was the frame and the bumper and the bumper mounts and the "tow hook brackets"...

But the bolts did a fine job of holding it all together, even though there was only THREE of them. :kissyou: (Instead of 5-7)

.
I used to run tow hooks up front on my old '90, and switched to a front hitch on the new XJ... will never go back. If you have to go hooks, then C4x4 is the recommended. But a front hitch not only provides a stronger, central tow point, but it also helps to box in and strengthen the uniframe.

When you turn the cruise control on in XJs, all you have to do is say your destination and the Jeep will take you there.

You have to actually drive home a couple times so it can get a feel for it. Its so used to going there it doesn't know what to do.

A POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM TOMKIN
I called National 4WD today and ask for Tomkin's Phone Number.
they gave me the number and I called this morning.

I called Tomkin in the states, I spoke to the one engineer and he informed me that yes it is a problem under the situation that I used the barckets in.

He took my name and address down and will be shipping me up new attachments for these brackets and is going to re-enforce them so it will not happen again....its not perfect, but it will help, its better than alot of companies saying that "too bad it was damage that was caused by abuse" I cannot wait until I ge them as he is going to ship them up to me by weeks end.....will post pics of the new attachments and see what you guys think..
