Toter home build

Running out of steam again, just chowed down a bowl of Chili. Started making it this morning while waiting for daylight and had it simmering all day, yum yum, now I am ready for a little nap. May work on it some more when I get back up

First you're making a home made toter home and now home made chilli... way to make me feel worthless! But none the less very inspiring build you have me thinking of something awesome like this further down the road!

Every after noon when I get home from work I check to see if there is an update for this. Every day there is one I get excited. I can't wait to see the finished product. Your work is very nice.

Just came in from putting the first coat of paint on it, I don't think I will be able to get a second coat on it tonight, starting to get dark and the temp is gonna start dropping soon. I probably won't get to do anything much on it tomorrow since I have to be at work by 12:00 and will be there till close. I do have all day Sunday off so I will be back at it strong then

picked up everything I need to mount the rear window crawlthrough yesterday, I plan to get that knocked out this morning and then see what I want to tackle next

okie dokie, rear cab window crawl through peice is installed and I have a coat of paint on the face of the upper bunk storage and the backside of the cabinet doors for it. once that dries I can install the face's and flip the doors over and paint the fronts of them. I am thinking about running and get enough paneling to do the front and passenger side wall. Just trying to think if I need to do something else prior to the walls, I would hate to miss something and have to backtrack to fix it

Haven't worked on it since Sunday due to my work schedual, tomorrow is my day off so I am planning to fir the front wall and side wall, insulate them and get the paneling on them. Then I think I am gonna start on the rear loft bed and wall. I will do the dining area after I get that done. I don't have a whole lot left to do, just a matter of having the time to do them is all. I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel

sitting around waiting on daylight again, raining right now, sure hope it stops, wanting to go get my paneling this morning but I have to strap it to the roof of my XJ and won't do it if it is gonna get wet, it may screw up my plans for today if it keeps up. I am wanting to get the front wall and passenger side wall all paneled out today.

I managed to go and get everything, started raining as I was headed home, had to pull out a towel and dry off all the paneling as best I could, hopefully it does not warp out. Now I have to wait for the rain to stop so I can start cutting it and fitting it in. Looks like I am not gonna get as far along as I was hoping to.

too bad you didn't have access to a large moving van to go get supplies in the rain.

:D

He lives in West Virginia Dan. It is state law that you need to drive the least appropriate vehicle you have access to when getting bulky items from large chain stores. He's already skirting the law by not driving a rusted up 92 Honda Accord when picking up lumber.

cmon now, this is NAXJA, I had to use the XJ for hauling or this thread would not be XJ related. I have not insured or registered the Box truck yet, did not see a need to until it is ready to use. Heck I got lucky to be able to sneek it home through 3 states without plates and not get caught.

Well, I managed to get the backing and insulation for the front 4' up from the floor done and the bottom section of paneling along with the bottom 4' of the corner done, I need to get the paneling outside where I have room to cut the upper section but it has been raining non stop all day. Gonna call it a day for now since the family is all home now, I will get a pic posted in a little while of todays progress

okie dokie, todays progress

so far so good, no rain, just waiting till I can go outside and make some noise without pissin off the neighbors. I want to get the front wall finished and also the passengerside wall. Once I have those done it will actually look like a room finally

been busy this morning, finished the front wall and sidewall except for the final trimming around the window and door, wife is picking up some cut off wheels so I can do that

for some reason i have an urge to drink a bottle of maple syrup.
:D

looks good man, are you going to put a couple bench seats and a table in there?

I plan to do an L shaped bench for 3 with my old table from my camper that I am stealing parts from and then will scrap it

been thinking on how I am gonna do the raised box's in front of the wheel weels for the buggy. As of right now I plan to make some tempory ones out of wood so I can get the buggy in there and start planning the rear upper bunk for the wife and I. I need it in there so I can get exact measurements of what I have to work with space wise. I plan to use the matress out of my old slide in since it was the right size for us and was very comfortable.
