Toter home build

man I wish I had way more time to work on it, We are gonna start competing again for the 2013 season and I will be getting alot of use out of this thing. Right now I just want to get it finished and take it out a few times to make sure everything is working right before I start driving it 7-8 hours 1 way to the competitions.

Just finished getting the first coat of Kool Seal on the entire roof, Tomorrow I will get a second coat on if the weather holds out. Once I get that done and it completely dries, I will be installing the roof top AC finally

sitting here waiting for enough daylight so I can go out and get another coat of Kool Seal on the roof. Also gonna plan out the framing and all for the front upper buk today and posibly start on it. In between all this I gotta change the front brakes on the DD. Gonna be a busy day. One of these days I am gonna have a day off that I do absolutely nothing.

are the roofs of these things pretty strong? im thinking a nice upper deck with some fake grass and lawn chairs..

I would not walk on it, In fack I added framing in the ceiling just to support the AC unit I am putting on it

got the third coat on the roof yesterday and it is finally covering the roof to the point that the gray color of the aluminum is not showing through anymore, I may give it a couple more coats just to get a good uniform white color on it, that way when I paint the sides and all white it will somewhat match. Starting to rain right now and is supposed to all day. Not a big deal since I have to open at work and wil not get home till later today anyways. I have tomorrow off so hopefully I can get started on the upper bunk area and knock it out

Just picked up all my lumber and insulation for the front upper bunk. Tomorrow morning I will get then front window in and frame out the whole upper bunk area and insulate it, then It will be ready for paneling.

Looking forward to some new pic's.

O.K. I could not stand to wait, went out and got the framing figured out and it will end up exactly the same width as a twin size matress, and length wise it will allow me to add a storage cabinet on one end so my son will be able to store his clothes and things. This is working out better than I had hoped, if it wasn't so dang hot and humid out there right now I would go ahead and start on it now

Got the upper bunk cleared out cleaned and preped, now I just have to wait till I can make some noise without pissin off the neighbors. This should go quick once I get started on it

Floor area of the upper bunk is completely framed and insulation cut and tempoarily laid in, forgot to pick up liquid nail yesterday to glue it down, the wife is running errands this morning and is gonna pick some up for me. Cooling off a little and then I am gonna go cut and mount the front window in. Once that is done I will frame out the rest of it.

I don't know if it was covered before, but I used to work at U-Haul, those front corners are prone to leaking. Just a heads up, coming out good otherwise.

made a little more progess on it yesterday afternoon, got a weird schedual at work today so I will not have enough time before or after work to do anything today, probably won't be till Friday before I make any real progress now

went ahead and got one of the roof vents off the old camper this morning and got it figured out on where to mount it in the upper bunk. Also figured out how I am gonna frame the storage area up there also. Now that I have a plan, when I do get to work on it, progess will go quick. Friday is my first day off this week so I will have a busy day on it then. Got a couple days to make sure I will have everything I need to do it so I can go non stop on it then. I will do some figuring on it this evening when I get home and get my list together so I can go get everything I need tomorrow after work.

this mornings progress
