too much jeep stuff in college appartment

tonight i pulled the old rear shocks n shackles out. took all of the brake lines travis left on the axle off of the axle... and then i documented the state of rust that i have. then i busted out the grinder and began removing said rust :D

then when it got cold outside i went inside and started screwing with the D300... it's old. and messy as hell. and was apparently still full of oil that ended up all over my workbench/floor. oops. the shift rails are frozen in the stock shifter rail guide thingy (aluminum on steel and it was outside). it's soaking in PB for now. i'll continue to smash stuff next week.

Wow. You have more of a rust issue than I do.

No cut and fold required on the rear quarters, I guess?

thought you had no tires... throw that hoosier on there :)

i haven't been kidding when i said i don't want to wheel till i cut it all out/weld in new stuff.

wtf are you talkin about?

negative. i go to hardly any of them and i have no clue who any of the players are. i went with jenn's family. i got bored and decided to take pictures instead. but now that you mention it, isn't he #35? i think i might have a couple.

but i just bought a bunch o steel today to remedy that. including some 3x3x3/16 angle iron for the rear unibody stiffeners. they're going to get a date with a hole saw.

normally, id bitch about having to do the same, but i did just order the phase convertor so im satisfied

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the steel cost? I'm going to be redoing my rockers as soon as it doesn't involve lying in slush with the welder, and intend to use 2x5x3/16 box, trying to get a feel for steel prices in as many places as possible before I make a buy.

speaking of them getting a date with a hole saw, i think your phase converter could help with that. ;)

just use 2x6. it sticks out past the door farther.

i spent $150 on... a lot. and the guys left it extra long too :D

if i have motivation i'll go cut some and hold a piece of 2x6 and show you, but i think bill has a picture in his thread of exactly what i mean.

Keep in mind he spaced his out, didn't go right up against the inside of the rocker IIRC.
