Running 32's right now, no trimming. When i went up saran i rubbed on the rear from what i saw. didnt see rubbing on the top or front.

dont plan on trimming - key

well, need new tires, at least two. cannot find any on CL (cheap) so getting two new will run around 350 after m/b. but, the remainder of the tires on going to need replacing soon.

So was thinking of jumping to 33's because they are allways on CL for fairly good prices.

if i dont go off road, shouldnt rub should i? (as in over normal bumps in the road) (due to winter, doubt i will be hitting any trails)

If you didn't rub offroad with 32's you most likely will be fine on the street with 33's

never looked at wheels driving down the road. reason i was wondering. and there are some pretty good size holes here.

thanks man, just wanted some piece of mind before i buy these tires

Wow - that's hard to read all broken up like that. Try simple but complete sentences.......

But, if I understand correctly..... yeah, 32's are hard to come by. And I guess I get it that you don't want to trim.

Simply fitting tires on the Jeep at static ride height is only one factor in tire fittment. There's lots of dynamics to consider before being able to say "they won't rub". Wheel offset being a big one. The farther out the wheel sits, the wider the swing or arc of the tire's turning motion becomes. Ya dig?

Stock wheels with 33's will tuck under the fender better and be less likely to rub on the corners of the fenderwell or flare, but more likely to rub on the lower control arm or the braces/brackets under the radiator support up front.

I had a '95 with a 4.5 RE lift and 33x12.50x15s' and the tires rubbed quite a bit on the front lower corner of the fender and flare - so that got cut away. The lower rear corner of the flare also got trimmed back a bit. And that was just to accomodate the turning of the tire at static height. I had stock offset "Gambler" wheels with 1.5" spacers. Without the spacers, the tires rubbed on the LCA.

Keep the 33's no wider than a 10.50 and that'd help, but overall, I don't think with the lift you currently have that 33's are gonna fit..... plus, larger tires increase deathwobble potential and effect and your current set up is a good candidate for DW.

i tend to type short statements unless its a formal letter/email (and it gets worse as i get tired). With the 32's the tires dont rub on the arms, but the wheels do, canyons. The spacers came in today for the front and they will go on Friday/saturday to fix that issue.

Think that with the information you just provided, i will drop to 31's. Definately do not want to trim. Well, thinking of the front to make it look a bit more like the 97+ fender (or just go to 97+ front end) but still have some other issues that need worked out before i do that.

My '96 - 3" Pro Comp lift, on 31's. Only trimmed the front to fit the bumper, otherwise, no rubbing even at full flex.

I still miss that rig..........

Dont like the way they looked trimmed, i like the flares on them. If i do, it will be something like that black one there. that doesnt look bad.

you can trim and keep flares... swing buy the hanger on sat and I'll show you how to fit 35s on 4 inches:D

Heh heh....... that had me trying to find those pics from CO fest '05 of you and Bob going at his rig with the sawzall and grinder...... :roflmao:

Trim it they only built 3.5 million XJs not like it is a collectors item. Hell Yella slaughters them like they have the bubonic plague and never bats a eye. :D

Shaddup. I just butcher the dead ones and resurect the others. I don't do any slaughtering.... just the rendering..... :D

DO IT! I'm on 31's and I can go plenty of places (as long as I steer my tires in the direction Led tells me :D). You can do the majority of trails in Colorado with 31's, as long as you are set up properly.

I don't think it's ever wise to take Leds actions into consideration. The man clearly takes fookitall with his vitamins in the morning :gee:

Hey Led....... Michael here says you have no skill! He's implying...... well, no he actually says that your skills are pharmaceutically enhanced.......

You gonna take that?
