I'm going to camp up on Tincup this weekend along with Joey.Anybody else want to join us?Going to mostly chill out and do some fishing and maybe break out some of the guns but might try to see how far up Grizzly lake I can make it before the snow stops me.

Heading up from COS at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, coming back sometime Monday.

Jeff... thanks for the call. Tough to take them during the afternoon though while in the office.

We're actually going to be down there for the weekend staying in Chalk Creek. Fishing and power lounging... Heading down Friday night and coming back Monday afternoon.

I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon to find out where you guys are fishing. Any idea what's open down there? I'd assume Pomeroy is still socked in?

I don't know for sure what the deal is this weekend but if we can...we will be there. I will PM you about meeting up somewhere. I've never been to Tincup but I can't imagine it would be difficult to meet up.

Will a 5 weight be good up there?

Matt....what do you fish at Chalk Creek? Is the Arkansas there or are you hitting still water? That is near BV right?

i don't fish anything there... I camp there. :) We're pulling the camper down for the weekend so we're staying at the Chalk Creek Campground (same location of the cofest campground).

there's some stuff going on in Salida this weekend, hanging in the hot springs, etc.... lotsa' relaxing going on.

Sounds like a good weekend but be careful for cryin' outloud. Don't wanna pull a hammie reachin' into the cooler. :laugh3:

Tom, I have no idea whats open trail-wise.I'm sure the lower portions of Grizzly and Iron Chest are open but up higher is anybody's guess-feeling adventurous? :D

Riverboy, A 5 wt will do just fine.I'm planning on fishing some beaver ponds up on the pass- the Brookies should be plenty hungry.Tincup Pass is about 6 miles south and 10 miles west of BV.PM me if you want to go and we'll set a meeting place (I'm thinking 7-11 in WP).

Matt, I guess you have to do that PAMPERED camping.:twak: :laugh3: I'll try to drop by the campground and say hey or you could come visit us up the pass.

bastard! :D

what can I say.. Laurel's domesticated me plus I'm old... Not as old as you but.... :gag:

speaking of beaver ponds... ever tried the ones on the way to Lost Creek Wilderness Area? Turn south just as you get to the bottom of Kenosha Pass. If you can avoid the cattle, it's awesome fishing!

PlaneFixer,

We will staying at Chalk Creek Campground Friday night thru monday morning. Hopefully we can hook up during the weekend. We are planning on running Iron Chest and Grizzly Saturday morning, at least the lower portions that are not snowed in. The forest service said the upper portions of Grizzly, Iron Chest, Hancock, and Tincup are closed due to the snow. If you would like to see how far we can get I'm in.
