The tale of the $500 XJ

Indeed. Basically they're said to be the best stock style brakes for XJs. I've never personally ran them but what I gathered was that everyone that bought them felt they were worth the upgrade. I've been thinking about having a friend help me put in a front d44, if I don't I'll be going with these at some point.

John: sweet man, thank you. Yeah bring'em down. I'd really appreciate that.

Llama: Yeah, for the price you can't complain too much. New rotors, pads and calipers. All the reviews I've read while sitting on the throne said that they were awesome and predicable. Since I don't have plans on going full width or tons in the near future... These might be just the ticket.

So I noticed today that my shocks are basically gone...time for new ones... Upgrade! Has anyone dealt with the F.O.A shocks at all? Looks like they're the best bang for the buck.

Foa. Guy at my work is putting big foas on his superduty. But
seems like they are good to work with and know there stuff. He has called them
And gotten good advice and info

Thanks! That's what I've read, is that their customer service is pretty top notch and they even take the shocks and revalve them if you're not happy with the time they put on them biased on vehicle weight and driving type.

Btw no pm ever showed in my inbox, so apologies for having not responded to your pm.

Little tatter tot of an update, got my led reverse lights wired and mounted. Now I can actually see what I'm about to back into.

FWIW I did the EBC 6000 greenstuff truck and SUV pads all around when I did ZJ rear discs and the stopping power is a huge improvement over any of the parts store pads, no problem locking up all four 33x12.50s if I want to, but still very smooth and predictable under normal circumstances. At $50 they are less than half the price of the black magic pads and dont need new discs necessarily to work properly (I didnt use new discs). Whatever you do, follow the bedding procedure to the letter, thats going to give you the best chance of being happy with what you get. You see a lot of people not that happy with their brake upgrade, saying its no better than stock and I would bet every time that they either have a hydraulic issue or didnt do the procedure right, it can have a huge impact

Wj swap! You can still use the stock style steering for the time being.. I got my knuckles for $10 a piece at the pnp in moss landing mang

you got WJ knuckles for 20$?
holy crap dude thats a steal. I paid 220$ on pirate for a set ...

Thanks hooper! I'll try my best to follow the procedures as best as I can. What axle did you have under the rear when you did the zj discs?

Only $20 for a pair of wj knuckles??? Man they must like you at moss landing. I can't even get out of there with a small simple part for under $15. You could make loads of cash buying and reselling those.

Seal I believe the 8.25 is a popular recipient of ZJ brakes. I need to ask Josh what my new rear 44 has as far as disc parts so I can buy the correct new parts when they wear out.

ZJ Discs are pretty much plug n pray for XJ D35, D44 and C8.25. On the 8.25 you need to enlarge the center hole just slightly to make the back plate fit.

Liberty KJ discs are plug n pray on the XJ 8.25

I'll have to keep an eye out for a set of zj brakes.

Began collecting parts for this winter build.
This is what I've gotten so far
-reverse cut 4.88 for the front.
-prothane bumps
-empty dana 30 carrier that I'm going to throw an auto locker at till I can save up for selectables.
-a non cad dana 30 with new ball joints and some small upgrades here and there.

Got hit basically head on today in the potato. Everyone is okay and it was the other drivers fault. The jeep has very minor damage thanks to the 35's but her car is a little worse for the ware. I'll post pictures when I get back to California.
