The official Xota build thread

This photo, Rt. door is pretty beat up and I'm running low on time for finding a good used one. So I decided to replace the outer panel.

I'm getting stoked. Now that the door edges and door jambs are painted, I don't have much to do to get ready to paint the outside. Just have to weld up the 20 screw holes that dumb a$$es have drilled in the cab back panel, then prep everything and it's ready to paint.

Black interior. I have new black form fit carpet for it and I'm looking for some good black door trim panels (not finding any though). I'm also looking for seats but I may just cover the XJ seats. It has the XJ black dash installed.

It's my bad weather driver and I want to be able to drive it to destinations like CoFest, Moab, Rubicon, etc.. I want it to be as comfortable and quiet as it can be so, floor will be covered with peel-n-stick before carpet, firewall is already covered, back panel will have a mat and carpet. I may build a console with oak inlay.

But I can take my time on all that.

you, sir, have me truly impressed! i can build alot of things and make them look damned good, but i never got the hang of body work and you have the whole gambit of fab work down to an art, very good, very good job indeed.

just an idea if you hadn't already planned on it, just to wierd people out even more i would put the jeep emblem back on the front grille and put the cherokee ones back on the sides....ok maybe not the cherokee ones but get some billet XOTA ones made or something!

It's finally in the booth, it's been ready since yesterday morn. but the painter has been busy with shop work. That was a long day yesterday and this morning.

I left the windshield for the painter to mask since it takes some skill to mask the moulding edge. I would have preferred to have the windshield out or at least the moulding off, but on this Toy. cab the moulding clips fit under the glass so they get installed together.

Special thanks to Jamie Divos for the excellent painting.
