those diesels are kind of cool, but with cali smog testing diesels now, i think i will stick with the 4.0

No worries there, the diesel smogging is '96+.

However that doesn't change the fact that the 2.1 diesel was a POS...

to be honest, i dont know about the jeep diesels, but the old mercedes diesels were one of the best small diesel engines ever produced in a production auto. and they are readily available, and cheap.

Good luck finding a belt and IP for that motor. That is why it is listed so cheap.

And yeah, from what I've heard, they sucked. Do a swap instead.

You could build it up with lift/tires/etc. Put tools in some of the cabinets, put food/beer/coolers in the other, and fill the bed area with spare axle housings, control arms, and other consumables!
