The Official CraigsList Thread...

Yeah it is huge deal over what they posted before, after all that is a gold plated 40K invested Jeep with some lift looks like both axles need to move out some too

Just think how much cooler your Jeep would be compared to the one for sale if you had $40K to throw at it...

I think this is only the housing?? "Slip in a nice pumpkin and you are ready to rock with this popular housing." Not sure what the bare housing is really worth?

What makes you think that? He said he wasn't sure if it had a limited slip so it must be the entire assembly not an empty housing. When he said pumpkin, I assumed he just misspoke and meant locker or something. Would have been helpful if he had posted an actual picture of his item instead of a file photo.

If it is a complete axle, which the description implies, I wouldn't spend more than about $90 for it. Ford 9s are a dime a dozen.

The 9" has a removable center section, gear changes can be as simple as swapping centers, that's probably what he meant by putting in a new pumpkin (which can be geared and locked).

to be honest im glad i ditched the ford 9 i had...the pinion was too low to the ground, the housing is totally flimsy(thin material) and the only upside is if u get an after market nodular 3rd member to really benefit from strength. the axle shafts are 30 spline, same as a dana 44. i didnt mean to turn it into a tech post. so maybe 60 bucks for it if u really want it haha

I want one eventually.
