They must have swapped to the newer coil packs/valve covers because those are 2006+. Wouldn't surprise me, it's a common upgrade that I plan to do too. Mostly just for cosmetics to get rid of the rats nest of spark plug wires.
Yeah at least from what I've seen/read, the factory truck/car manifolds pretty much outflow any aftermarket intake. Interesting why they even went with that intake to begin with since they stayed with fuel injection, probably just because the truck manifold looks so ugly or it was some holley setup (I missed what they were running).
Cool to see it make over 650hp, but I agree with Dave, probably a recipe for disaster. It would be a fun disaster but not something I would want to replicate since I don't have deep pockets :laugh:

I wonder what the reliability would look like with the N/A setup they had- those were decent numbers. Seemed like the cam shifted the powerband way high though.

The cam/ported heads shifted the power up high, however the intake killed the low end power. With a stock truck manifold I would guess it would be better.
The hemi heads flow really well due to the hemi head design. Porting them just makes them that much better.

Meh you'll probably end up with a dusting.
It was funny when they were predicting we were going to get slammed earlier in the week everyone was panicking like we've never got snow before. Dumb media hype. Now that we are going to get maybe a whiff of a dusting there is a sign outside the local CVS that say "Weatherman wrong closeout on bread".
Who goes to CVS to buy bread? I am guessing they brought it in for the storm panic and now can't unload it. :laugh:

I'm supposed to get between 1-2 feet.
Just by accident I'm probably the most prepared I've ever been for something like this...the 5.9 ZJ has 4 new tires, two fresh CV axles in the front, finally a front driveshaft with the 242, new wipers, new water pump & hoses, just because I finally had a chance to address a lot of deferred maintenance. The Dodge has two new batteries, new rear tires (fronts were fine), new rear brakes.
I finished the garage heat install last weekend (forced air, natural gas), coal stove will be lit when I get home from work today, the John Deere has two new front tires and is good to go otherwise for plowing duty, the burners on my natural gas stove work fine if the power goes out (as does the water heater), and I have all the stuff to make a big pot of chili to last through the weekend.
The garage heat works great - 70k BTU furnace, 5 distributed duct passages with a balanced return, brings it from 40 degrees to 50 degrees in about 45 minutes and from 50 to 65 in about 20 minutes. I've left it set at 50 the last few days and the furnace barely has to cycle.
It's nice when a plan comes together.
And when I'm not building a race truck and actually have time and money to complete all the stuff I'd been putting off over the summer...

I'm hoping it shifts a little bit more north so get over a foot. Right now probably ~8" is my guess.

Oh...and the 5.9 ZJ with the 242 in full-time is a friggin blast to drive. It hasn't had 4wd at all in probably 7-8 years, and when it did, it was with a 249 with a locked-up viscous coupler and a binding rear LSD so it wasn't smooth at all. The 242 and a fresh set of clutches in the LSD really pull nice out of corners now.
