THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Dyneema, you big spender

Meh. It came with the winch.

...which for sure also came with a premium on the price for including it.

It's pretty impressive how light that stuff is. Definitely lighter than the Viking stuff I have from 6-7 years ago.

I can't wait to watch that pretty front end get ruined.

:D

The front tubes are layered over with 2 x .120 4130, so it's 1/4" thick with more dent resistance...I'm gonna feel that if something gets ****ed up.

Can you post a pick of your steering I'm curios as to how you did it so it has a full range of motion and no bind.

First one I found...

The thing under the passenger side frame rail is an idler arm; that lets the driver-side tie rod be the proper length. The hydro assist ram acts on the intermediate link between that idler and the pitman arm.

The passenger-side tie rod connects directly to the pitman arm, as I was able to place the steering box in a 'good enough' location that its length was pretty close to what it needed to be.

Side note. Any one running long arms at less than 3 inches of lift? I just put some on and am worried haha

Yeah. Me. Well, not less, I'm at 3-1/2.... But news flash to the dumb...there is nothing there to hit with a longarm setup. If a longarm doesn't hit anything when bottomed out, no matter the lift, what would it hit at no lift?...I've asked that one to plenty of people. Crickets.. BTW. I've let my rig down to the bump stops with no front springs even present, just for my own peace of mind. Don't lecture unless you've tried.
...my 2cents. Do it. It works

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Roof Related Subjects Thread

I have a rough country long arm with johnny joints and a plated cross member. The upper mounts are tearing out so it seems like a win win.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Roof Related Subjects Thread

Came off bad but the truth is you can run longarms at stock height. No viable reason why you couldn't.. a 3 link might pose some clearance issues but I can vouch. A Clayton radius arm setup can be done with no lift. Period.

Nice sounds good to me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Roof Related Subjects Thread

Nice . The internet will tell you that you need at least 40 inch tires and 6inches of lift in order to be a totally cool badass guy. No

And according to the net my tires don't work at all in new England. And 2 inches of lift won't work with 35s.

Anything works when you don't wheel
