Asking 9 bills with a gas bottle. I just ordered a new bigger machine with some goodies. And I spend almost $3k on nv4509 stuff today so now I'm really in the hole lol

I'm probably gonna get a harbor freight sandblaster soonish and I have a 55 gallon metal drum and a fuel-safe high flow pump to make a parts washer with. Only been sitting on that stuff for three years now.

Speaking of which anyone want a 500 gallon heating oil tank to build a grill or something out of? It's only missing a little bit of one corner, I want this thing gone, it's leaving as scrap or someone's taking it free, I don't care which :gee:

so I have a chance to pick up a full size plow, I think its just the blade maybe the mounting thing, no hydrolics, it has a couple soft spots but its $50 thoughts? just gonna rig it up to the jeep to plow the driveway

It's worth almost $50 in scrap metal. I'm sure you could sell it for that if you decide you don't want it later.

I have a chance to pick up a '97 dodge with a plow on it for cheaper than I can build/buy the brackets to mount the plow onto my truck. (free)

It runs and drives, the exhaust is gone, trans is kinda shitty, frame is all rusty, but in 4lo it'll get my driveway done. Just have to decide if it's worth keeping a whole 'nother truck around just for plowing stuff...although I don't really wanna put a plow on my truck either. It's a Western Uni-Mount which they don't make anymore so I'd have to get the Ultra-Mount brackets and then the Uni-Mount adapter (probably like $600). Yes I could build it, but looking at the complexity and some of the weird shit involved (half the bolts come with long pieces of rod attached so you can fish them 18" into the frame rail), it just isn't worth my time at this point...

I have plenty of space in my backyard so I'll probably just get the truck and figure it out later.

the price it right, and as Anthony said it don't work out aint like either one of us will be out of money. I offered $40 for the plow and he took it, gonna get it this weekend. not sure how it will attatch to the jeep prob be TSC hiems and poop pipe

Sounds haggard. I'm jealous. Do you still have the XJ you bought right before NACfest a few years ago too?

Yep. Hasn't run in a while, some sorta ground issue that I haven't had the need or motivation to figure out, but all the good parts are still there. That thing actually goes down the road really nicely and had cold A/C once I charged it.

I have a lot of room for storing things that move, but the backyard area is on a downward slope from the garage, so storing things that don't move is kind of a pain in the ass. The Dodge runs pretty good though, so with some Sta-bil and a trickle charger it shouldn't be too annoying.

I'd do it. I was debating rigging something up to my jeep before I bought Nick's plow.

Having the ability to turn the plow is definitely nice, but even just using your winch to raise/lower a straight blade would be better than snowblowing any day.

I love having the plow on my truck. Having a dedicated plow vehicle is nice so you don't have to worry about doing any damage to your daily driver, but at the same time now you have to maintain two vehicles.

My father still has the 87 ramcharger 440 for plowing (with the broken rear frame). Still runs/still plows, but every now and then it needs something. Power steering lines, brake lines, transmission lines, etc. If you have the plow on your daily driver, it always has to be maintained/ready to go so you never have to worry about it.

I had to make those bolts as well for mine since my brackets came with zero hardware. Wasn't a big deal. Bought a long strip of like 14 ga x 1/2" wide steel from home depot and banged it out in like 30 minutes. Works great.

Swapped my brothers used gears over, did new balljoints, and then my father and him swapped everything else over to the "old" axle that originally came in his jeep.

What was amazing was that both pinions had the same markings on them (+1) so I just used the old pinion shims and the depth actually came out mint. Backlash on the looser side but still within tolerance. Pattern was great and somehow easy to read on those gears.

No gear noise, no locker banging/clunking anymore, and no leaks. Win.

So it was all caused by ball joint seats being wallowed out?
