THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bellhousing bolts are important right?

Because somehow I seem to be missing one of them :gee:

Just ripped the drivetrain out of the red jeep and yeah, one of the lower bellhousing bolts is just gone. Didn't break, it's just gone... must have been undertorqued when I did the engine replacement and rattled out over the last ~20k miles.

meh when I got my MJ it only had 1.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just discovered these Anchor motor mounts (made in Korea, not SE asia...) are just as shitty as the SE asian ones... the sleeve for the bolt is 1/8" too narrow to let me torque the through bolt properly. Never buying those again.

I duno why Ross uses a grinder to cut brackets out when he has a plasma. Thing is like magic.

I really need to get that second motor/compressor working. One stage just can't keep up with it.

buy from me :) they're good enough for Chrysler to buy in bulk :-x

how'd you do with the tranny??

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Still working on it. Everything's out, transmission is completely reassembled, trying to get this GOD DAMN BUSTED OFF EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUD out of the cylinder head and it's laughing at my chinese ezout. Pissing me the **** off. Oh well, worst case I will slap it back together with a new gasket again like I did last time and it will last 1.5 years before it starts sounding like a gas F250 again.

It's a little too late to buy mounts from you... at least for this project. Might redo them if they disintegrate as fast as I expect them to.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not sure why anyone buys anything but brown dog

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup, I'll never understand it. The last motor mount you'll ever buy.

And I had poly ones in my old XJ. Never noticed any additional vibrations.

Going to drag my uncles Duster up on Friday. Need to hit the homo depot for some pressure tank stuff today after work and some more shelving brackets. I dragged up the rest of my parts/steel yesteday and holy shit did I forget about a lot of stuff I had left.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Finally got the jeep running, started on the first crank and motor sounds healthy.

Few issues did pop up, like a pin hole in the gas line and garbage alternator.

The big issue is that the stock mechanican fan hits the 8k winch I have mounted behind the crossmember. The stock fan is about 14.5 inches, I'd have to run a 13in max and it would probably still hit.

Who has run two electric fans on their xj? Two stockers maybe? Dundy I know you have your winch in the same spot as me, did you run into this issue? What do you run for fans?

I may grab a 14in elec fan and mount it in the stock fan shroud if a stock aux fan won't cut it.

I'm running dual electric fans with a SPAL fan controller. Ross (FoxWar71) had a better setup with 3 ~12" fans. I need to upgrade mine.

Thanks man. What fans do you run? Stock aux fans or? I may try a permacool 14in in the stock shroud. I had thought about 3 10in fans mounted right to the core but would prefer not throwing down 200 bucks right now.

Ross, any pics of your setup? Or more info.

Thanks guys.

I ran 2 stock electric fans (97-01 use 10-blade fans).

I actually removed my electric fan set up and went back to a stock style set up. I still have the 2 10 inch fans I was using instead of the stock fan

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if you search threads started by me, you'll find my thread about converting them with pictures and everything

I found some fans, put them in my jeep, plugged the two wires into some speed controller I bought and connected that to the battery or some relay or something. Here's some pictures of fans and wires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What we really want to know, is what kind of alternator you running?
