THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think the bearings might be too shot for that :( hoping it's just synchros though.

Jeff can have a master rebuild kit to you by Tuesday. Let him (and me) know what you need and we'll make sure you get errthang you need.

Remember I was looking for live edge wood burls for the bed headboard? I just found these guys on craigslist.

$5/BF is pretty good for this stuff. I sent them a message on the black walnut.

that's pretty sweet. I have an alaskan mill that I've been messing with. I cut up some nice 18" sugar maple slabs and a bunch of 20"+ norway spruce from an 85 footer than blew over a few years ago. I'm constantly on the lookout for weird curved pieces and forks to make into shit now.

I just texted him, I'm really really hoping to get synchros by tomorrow so I can actually finish this project at work over the weekend like I planned to. If I can't get em tomorrow I might as well just order a full set of synchros on ebay for $40 (yeah, I can't believe that price either) since it does seem like all the bearings are fine.

However, if you happen to know that you have two 04897051AAs, a 04637533, and two 83506252s on the shelf somewhere in Mass, I'll drive down and buy them on the spot  I want this damn thing done and in the jeep ASAP.

If I had realized this thing was smoked earlier I would have just ordered a full kit along with the other crap I got from you guys last week. This stupid jeep needs to be reliable and I'm tired of wondering when the AW4 is finally going to explode.

Yea shoot Jeff a text about those part numbers tomorrow morning. I can't look up our inventory away from work.

Hell yeah... the 0.625" steel rod that NP231 shift forks ride on is not case hardened like I feared it was. Drills like butter with regular HSS.

I'm just gonna leave you guys guessing what I'm doing till this harebrained scheme either works amazingly or blows up in my face :eyes:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much they charge? I already have most of the parts needed to build an extra 4x4 tranny.

$150

73.5 MPH skiing at Hunter Mtn in NY today. New personal best :) Couldn't have asked for better conditions to really try and open it up...

Impressive, what do you have for skis? My Volkl Karma's get chattery when I get going really fast.

I could go on and on about my love of PBRs and Natty Daddys, but I'm currently drinking a Harpoon "The Long Thaw" White IPA... What happened to the old Billy?

What about Busch heavies? Was the old Billy even that cool?

Armada T-Halls. Not really the best for go-fast  but they have some good camber and on a day like yesterday it was wayyy too easy just to let 'er rip. They groomed *everything* overnight, even the steepest blacks, and the mountain was pretty empty all day so we just mapped a top-to-bottom route that allowed for carrying speed and rode it all day for the most part, ending up with a pass through the park at the bottom.

21 runs in about 4 and a half hours, not too bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just gave the neighbor kid a 231 tailhousing because his buddy somehow cracked the one on his YJ. Good thing I have 6 boxes of NP231 parts laying around...

Then he showed me the trail they just cleared in the woods behind our properties, by bombing down it in his ancient dodge plow truck.

I'm enjoying living next to the me of 12 years ago. Now to head down to LII for tonight & tomorrow to get my TTB shit going and drop the engine/trans/tcase/axles/etc into Tim's rig tomorrow...
