THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carmelo what size stock do you have? Ill do up a ms paint blue print tonight

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I cut mine off and welded a bolt on to mount a Bud tap. Looked like shit, but I spent as little time as possible on it. So I guess yes is the answer.

You guys think I'm crazy to drive 9hrs to Pittsburgh this weekend with Billy to trade my MTZ's for a set of 36" SX's with (supposedly) only 1000 street miles on them?

Road trips are ****ing awsome! Any pics of the tires?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll do yours next since you actually bothered to show me what you want. I need to know what to thread it though. If you have any diameter preference. Shit like that.

edit: also, just two? or do you have triple sticks?

I need 3.

1/2" 13 tpi sounds good to me.

thanks dude.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

5" long piece round stock say maybe 2" diameter with a tapped hole of 12mx1.25 and the other side rounded for a Subaru shifter.

If you get around to it I have PayPal just chilling

Just a plain hunk of stock with a hole in it? Also I don't have metric taps. Feel free to email me a picture [email protected]

Right now, 1 7/8" but I'm willing to bet sam's will take up the rest of that. I'm thinking of getting more thursday so dream up what you want and I'll just grab some to fit. If everyone tells me what size they want I'll know better what to look for.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yes.

I can't imagine spending 9 hours in a truck with that guy.

:looser:

I really don't know who it would be worse for, me or Billy...

Road trips are ****ing awsome! Any pics of the tires?

He got me one so far, they look good, but he says he'll get me more before we make a deal. I'm hoping he's willing to drive a few hours to make it easier on us, we'll see.

Want me to tell you about how unreliable dana 44s are on big heavy oval shaped swampers now? or until after you make the trade?

how much tread is on yo mtzs?

money-wise, it sounds like you are makiing out in this deal. but I effing hate swampers on the rocks and on the street.

sure, why not. if thats what you want, then why not. I drove to baltimore and back with dundy for my stak. me and him went to PA one time for his 2nd D30 too. no big deal.

I think thats the first time somebody said "sam's" in this thread, and it wasnt Ken talking about that junkyard he hangs out at twice a week.

The SX's are 'only' ~12lbs more per tire, which is definitely going to make a difference, how much is what I don't know. I can't imagine they weigh more than a 38" Creepy though.

The MTZ's have 12-13/32's right now, with only minimal cuts in the blocks from the few wheeling trips on them.

I would definitely be making out money-wise, as I only have $350 into this set of tires and wheels. I loved my 33" TSL's and would definitely run them again, and have heard nothing but good things about the 36's, especially in the terrain we wheel.

The only major downside I see it the loss of street manners. Right now the ZJ is comfortable, and pretty quiet on the highway. With the SX's it would suck. Not sure if I'm willing to give up that right now.

36" tsls were by far the worst tire I ever ran.

I changed my mind, ****in do it.

Let me ride in the middle though.

If you still plan on driving your rig on the road at all, I'd keep the MTZs. Those tires rocked.

Get some beadlocks and knock those things down to 8 psi all around. They'll hook damn well.

Also, I think this is my favorite video from this past weekend. Chuck took a bunch of like 10 second videos  Just go to his channel to see them all.

The 36" sx's travis had were great, mine were awsome on dry rock to, with that being said I still don't see what he big deal is about creepies

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris, do you have any regrets or anything about going to a 4 link with coils?

I just can't afford to drop the $2k on coilovers right now, but I still want to link the back of my MJ over the summer/fall.

I figure that should only cost me around $600 with ruffstuff joints. I'd probably try some stock rear TJ coils or front XJ coils since the rear of my MJ is fairly light.
$2k? What are you buying, bypasses?
I have under $1k into mine including the triple rate kit and springs.

Radials or SX's? My radials sucked, I would never run those again.

Like I said, driving on the street is my only concern. Obviously it can be done on SX's, but I really don't want to be miserable every time I drive to the trail. Especially if I end up driving to NACfest...

I haven't been all that impressed with the MTZ's yet, though they are awesome in the snow, on or off road. I'm know when I put the front locker in it will make a big difference in the Jeep, so maybe I should just do that and shut up.

I think I'm going to pick up a fresh set of steelies this summer and do some DIY beadlocks, should be a fun project and save me some cash over buying them outright.

Your shitbox sounds sick, I wanna go for a ride again.

modern mud terrains on beadlocks kick dick.

The creeps ride awesome on the street, come in round shapes, and have amazing traction. I hear people say they suck when the rocks get covered in mud, but I can't think of a time I was disappointed by them.

My only complaint about them is the contact patch on the street. you have to run silly low pressures to get even tread contact. i usually just go for about 80% tread width touching the pavement.

If street is your concern, don't do anything and go for some MTR-K's when they pop up.

For ****s sake skip the SXs and get a goddamn front locker. My XJ went pretty dumb places on MTZs locked front/rear. They worked great in the terrain around here aka mud covered rocks. Not to mention all I did was throw some BBs in them and they were smooth as silk up to 80 mph.

You're not allowed another ride until you get a goddamn front locker.

I haven't had them long enough to really test them out, but the few places I've had them they've been pretty awesome.

Other than the snow. They absolutely blow in the snow.
