Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Damnit why didn't I think of that.

Wtf! Those are MOSFET/IGBT gate drivers, they are designed to drive capacitive loads not inductive ones. I bet back EMI is kicking the shit out of them. Try using a back-EMI snubber diode, connect the cathode to the more positive injector terminal and the anode to the more negative one. I would use a schottky type if possible, I have a handful of 1N5817s around here if you want some for testing.
Is it being used as a low side switch? You may need to substitute something like a VNQ5050K-E that is, you know, actually designed for the intended application. Unless the chip you listed is being used to drive the injector driver MOSFET's gate, which is what they are intended for, then I would suggest upgrading the MOSFET and maybe trying a snubber diode as well.
Everyone read this thread and then tell me you dont want to go snow wheeling.

yup. Lots of words for nothing :dunce:
That IRFIZ34N is available on digikey for $1.68ea, if you are going to make a habit of popping them by miswiring things I suggest buying a rail of 25 for $23 after discount :spin1:
