Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So my buddy from work (who will be helping me with the megasquirt) has been working at DMC Racing and basically designed a fab'd 9" housing for them. They finally finished building the first one and did a photoshoot. Came out badass. Adjustability everywhere for all control arms, wheelie bar, and sway bar.

All 4130, 3.5 x .188 wall tubes, and it'll take a 9.5" ring gear. He did some cool shit like o-ring for the third member instead of a gasket, rolled the housing instead of flat plates, and it only weighs 55 lbs empty. Insane. It's designed for mustangs.

Unlike us assholes who build adjustable link mounts and then never bother to adjust them, the guys who'd run an axle like that are fanatical about link placement. Not surprising they have it laid out like that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

DAMN that is a sexy piece of work!

If its cheap enough, have a shop do it. What about that place Mitchell Differential or something in MA? Ive heard they do axle work and shaft resplining. Also, I believe Dutchman is cheaper then Moser for resplines too.
I've been there, didn't know they did custom axles though, or rather, forgot. I actually ran into one of the guys who runs the place on the trail a few weeks ago. Will have to ask if they do that too.

I'm hoping the shop in Somers does it, because they are 30 miles from my house give or take and it's in CT, so I can take the MJ instead of the van.

I'm starting to post on pirate by accident bc I think im on another forum in tapatalk. This could turn out badly one day..
tapatalk sucks.

Yup. Not uncommon for them to be playing with geometry right before/after each run at a track. These guys are pushing beyond 1400 HP and hitting shit hard.

He specifically made sure to be able to clear 1.7" axleshafts if that gives any indication to what this thing will be able to handle.

Yup, he did a sick job on it. So did the rest of the guys there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wanna build badass housings and axles in my spare time and sell them for profit. Gotta find more spare time first and foremost....

I'm probably going to be honest with myself and not even waste the time building adjustable link mounts.

I have a pretty solid idea of how I want to mount them anyway.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone want a harbor freight 1 ton engine / shop crane? they're on sale for 150 bucks with inside track club membership right now, I'm a member. If anyone wants one I can arrange for the necessary coupon.

I actually think I'm using way too much separation at the frameside on the front. I have like 8".

I'm going to drop it down to the lower hole to get the arm flatter at ride height.

I probably won't even notice a difference.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am another one that built in all this adjustability only to run what I started with.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My friend who still works at the company I left (in the new warehouse at Jersey City) says he got his McMaster order same-day on Monday without selecting an expensive shipping method.
