THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What pics are you looking at? At first the 35s looked small on my jeep but I grew to like it. We're just used to huge tires on no lift.

spring over axle + 1" with 39.5's

soa and 38's

then theres other j-trucks that throw me off.

this is supposedly 6'' springs and 35's. looks only a couple inches taller than mine

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

XXXX spring over. You'll try to go fast and you'll hate everything. Plus, those things are way huge.

EFF UUUUU

the dana 60 bolts into my truck soa. im just gonna wheel it "easily" the first season til its lowered and linked. then i'll go apeshit with it, and hopefully by then ill be armored enough to play in big boy rocks.

and heres supposedly soa with 38.5's

i noticed theres a lot of inconsistency with supposed lift heights with j-truck owners. i think a lot of them lie to have a bigger e-penis

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

After I figure out how it stops in low range now I'll put priority on a doubler or standard. But I would rather stick with the auto because it's already there.

A stick is not required to get deep gearing, it's just easier to get it since autos usually have a tall first gear. Sticks usually have a deep first gear (in trucks at least) to help with towing so you don't burn up the clutch.

You'll have more than enough gear with an auto and a doubler.

my j10 is gonna make 37s look small. the cheapest tire i found that i will actually run in larger than a 37 is the irok. not too thrilled about that but it will do if it comes down to it

You had 38s and 15" beadlocks.

Stop being a fanboy.

He'll be fine SOA. Not like he has any short term plans to complete in KOH or something.

I'm sure he'd rather wheel this year than not because he chose to go SOA with $$$ leaf springs.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pssst.... Rob.... You went through a color change recently.

my beadlocks were 6 lug you tardmuffin. and 15".

and yes. i prefer wheeling to giving up on my project halfway through, and nearly parting it out and buying a volkswagen.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright who's ACTUALLY going on Thursday to the 99?

If no one cool is going then I'm staying home to hopefully finish my brother's gearset.

if nobody cool is going i'm gonna keep putting my jeep together.

reality is setting in and i might not have as much time as i had hoped to work out the possible bugs.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not going to the 9s. Hopefully use the bender and waste some $$$$ with some fancy pipes.

I would rather not go wheeling, stay at home, and save money for real tires, than ever wheel on Iroks again. Especially the 39.5s which is what it sounds like you're leaning towards. XXXX those pieces of shit. The 42's...maybe.

Now that I can step back and look at mine, I was thinking the same thing last night. I have a lot of work to do.

i liked the 36" bias iroks i ran. i hear that some sizes work great and some sizes suck taint.

im ready to jump on any deal i find for a tire between 37 and 40 inches.

roundish tires only.

if 36" oval shaped tsls sucked balls i can only imagine how much balls a similar tire would be with much more weight to throw around even further from the wheel hub.

If you do spring over and shackle flip with stock springs and stock shackles(hey you just made a beefy stock length shackle). You won't be that high.

If you get some badass 37s they'll fit perfect. Wheel awesome, and make me look like a pussy. If you don't, hey whatever, you'll look real original with a j10 with super swampers and leaf springs:wave1:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

36, 37, 42 are all not horrible. It's the 39.5s that really blow. They have like a really round balloony profile compared to the other ones.

image-13.jpg

Plus I put like 1500 miles on mine and you could watch the tread evaporate off of them. Especially the rear ones from scuffing around on pavement with the locker. I ran them for two seasons (april 2007 to december 2008) and they were junk. Put the Creepies on for KOH 2009 and I'd be running them still if I kept the XJ together.

So yeah. Stay away from the 39.5s. Worst XXXXing tire experience ever. And they didn't even work well, when they were actually working.

the rearend is going to probably be chevy 63" leaf springs. and im gonna decide the height back there by the mounting points of them.

front i'm gonna bolt a dana 60 under it and see what happens. shackle flip is a definate possibility.

swampers are the official tire of leaf sprung, spring over axle trucks from 1974 to 1986

creepies are like balloons and they are mint yo.

but yea. i wont drop big money on gayroks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd try to shoot for some creepies again Sam.

Downgrading on tires would make me miserable.

On that note, I'm going to try and milk my MTRs through this year, and depending on financials I'll probably get creepies next winter/spring.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The Englishtown/Raceway Park swap meet is this weekend. My goal is to get rid of my Creepies because I've moved them once already and I'm tired of it. If I bring them there it's gonna take a lot of convincing to make me load them back into the trailer, then unload them again when I get home, and still have to do something with them later.

Thinkin probably $1000 for all 5, 4 mounted on beadlock wheels, one on a Cragar steelie w/tube (actually the most tread of the bunch), down the road. Fair?

I'll also have a pile of random '94 YJ shit and a poster for the frame w/axles, and probably another poster with those dumb little tearoff info tabs for my 60/14b.
