Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just came across the video now, oh well.

big blocks are manlier.

i made a wanted ad on the internets looking for a chevy v8 fuel injected parts truck.

if anything cool comes up for the right price thats what the j10 will get for the time being.

Yeah I saw your want ad.

That works, gets it on the trail sooner. Worry about big block shit later on.

The trans fell off my furniture dolly yesterday while rolling it across the ground, I just picked it up and put it back on.

Also unloaded it out of the back of my truck by myself.

Thing is like half the weight of a NV4500.

That's the only thing that sucks about my drivetrain.

I literally can't load any of it in without a jack, except the 241 rangebox.

I need to inject some steroids and get lifting.

Colin, what throwout/slave assembly did you end up using for your clutch?

I'm excited to finally have an external slave and a clutch line that's not cobbled together from 4 different years of vehicles.

the guy wants real money for it though.

A friend of mine tried to convince me to put an 8.0 and an NV5600 in my jeep the other day. I told him to find me a donor for under 1k and I'd do it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

On what?

The NV4500 or the NP435?

If you mean this time around, it's just the stock throwout bearing on the NV4500 and I have a pull-type slave cylinder from Howe (bought off summit) since I don't have room to run the standard push-type.

I haven't tried throwout forks yet, but I'm going to probably use an old A833 (old car 4 speed) throwout fork. Looks like Dodge never changed that part which is nice because my father has like 5 of them upstairs in the garage.

Just as I'm saying that, I'm wondering what the difference is between a '94 YJ clutch master and a '05 TJ clutch master.

It'd be nice if I don't have to modify the pedal assembly at all.

Any reason you HAVE to use the '05 TJ master? Or would it just make it easier since (I'm guessing it's the same as my Dodge) the master/slave are one unit with the lines and everything?

The older YJs look to have the same master that I used on my MJ. Just has a threaded port instead of the dumb rollpin/o-ring setup.

I'm not sure how much of a PITA it would be to use a different slave cylinder on that thing though.

If it's anything like my Dodge, I'd probably just run the stock shit and say screw it if the master fits easily enough.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The slave is specific to that trans and year range ('05-'06). Whoever removed the trans cut the line but left the slave, and the line isn't available separate. You can buy the whole assembly though (master+line+slave) for $100 so I'd just do that if I know the master will bolt up easily.

My YJ tub has a complete master/line/slave hanging on it still, guess I can take that apart and see if the fittings on the slave are the same. I just don't know if the bore/displacement on the master is the same.

We have the 05/06 TJ slave assembly (Chrysler P/N: 52107652AM) in stock. Do you need me to check anything? If so, give me specifics. I can do that today, NO PROBLEM!

Just curious what the difference is - if any - between the bore/displacement of a '94 YJ clutch master vs. a '05 TJ master, or if a TJ one will bolt in place of a YJ one.

No rush, this is just the current thing that's on the top of my mind. Plenty of other shit to worry about in the meanwhile.
