Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't be a bitch.

i can get a set of the tires i want brand new for around $1500, likely less if i shop around or im ok with used tires. and be out $500 (or less, possibly break even)

or i can buy 15" wheels for roughly $150-300, a package of grinding wheels and have grinding wheel and metal shaving boogers for a week after i spent half my day grinding calipers. and have wheels and tires on the rig for about $ 175-325 and not have the rim size i want for future tire decsicions.

and lol at 4wheelparts "unbeatable tire sale" save 3 percent when buying 4 tires!

OH MAN WHAT A FAWKIN STEAL

So who else is down for the memorial day weekend rhode island/eastern ct ultimate adventure tour? You gonna have the J10 ready to go, Sam?
I will be there

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

want lockers and efi though
what do you need for EFI? If it's junkyard stuff I will keep my eye open, and if you need help with wiring let me know.

So I had my buddy's shop all to myself yesterday, and it was really nice out, so I made some progress on the new project.

Took the whole front clip and interior/dash/etc off the YJ...actually took a lot longer than expected. There's a ton of little braces and stuff between the body tub and fenders.

Explorer frame with rough markings for where the body is gonna sit...it will end up getting cut just about in front of the crossmember at the right of the pic.

I'll get a better shot today, it looks funny with about 2 feet of frame sticking out the back.
cool!

I see you are also going to the school of UFO and abominable snowman photography

As for memorial day, put me down for maybe, I hear there is another run planned but have no idea if I can make either.

I just got a line on an 87 Ford front 60, kingpin, kinda rusty but not too bad, for $150 pulled and loaded into my truck. Should I pull the trigger? It's not the really nice one with the wide driver tube obviously.

If I grab this one my balljoint one will be for sale.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Took the bike to school, got bored and left for home at lunch and then somehow got lost and ended up laying of the beach. Not the worst day but the beach would have been better not wearing jeans and work boots.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's the same axle Ross, Rob, Travis, and I run.
I thought it was, but wanted to make sure.

Guess I'll go pick it up tomorrow.

I was on a roll, and I had the opportunity and the equipment, so I just kept working into the dark. That last one was around 9:00, by the time I got everything wrapped up and put away it was after 10.

Note to self, I need to mount a headlight on the airport tug.

87-90 gmc/chevy pickup with a 5.0 or 5.7 would be the simplest.

im looking for a parts truck.

i need the manifold, throttle body, sensors, computer, wiring, and for some reason the distributor.

i would like the throttle cable and pedal too as mine is kinda shot and a little sticky

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I find one at the junkyard I bet I can get you all of that for under 200. Probably well under 200. How much would you be spending on a parts truck?

found a running one on craigslist for $500 with new throttle body, fuel pump, and some of the sensors. but the douchebag never got back to me.

figured i would scrap the rest and get all the stuff i needed for close to free.

but im open to any running parts truck for under 800 or so.

it would be worth it having the donor truck right beside the j-10 during the swap. but im sure i can figure it out if i get everything separately.

not sure what sensors i would be able to run it without.

i blame the lift blocks.

dont most of these guys swap on stock tires to tow them so they dont have a cog thats 12 feet in the air?
