THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think I have seen sh!nny's XJ in the classifieds enough times yet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got woken up by the truck driver for the Bagster service. They just threw 3 bags of my old roofing shingles in the truck and left... I love that service, it's like a dumpster but I don't have to ask for quotes and wait for them to drop a dumpster off, then rush to fill it by the pickup time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I was asleep by midnight or so.

Minus 10 points on the Harbor Freight shop crane. The assembly pictures show the wheels coming already bolted onto the base, but they came separate in the box. Which means someone's BOM is screwed up and they don't give you hardware for bolting the wheels on.

Plus 5 points because the parts diagram shows the thread, length, and quantity of every bolt on the thing.

Minus 10 points because the Home Depot down the road didn't have 16 M8x1.25 x 12mm bolts in stock, they only had 8, at $0.50 each. The rest were thru-bolts with nuts anyway so I subbed in 5/16 bolts, also $0.50 each. So $8 in hardware later I could finally put the thing together.

Minus 2 points for me because I left the assembly instructions on the shelf at Home Depot and had to figure out where all the bolts go and how to best distribute the 8.8-grade ones vs. the 4.8 grade ones. :|

Overall this thing is pretty nice though and I think it'll work out well.

I ignored the bolt strength numbers when installing mine. I just put a bolt where it fit. Works.

odd, they must have changed that. Mine came with all the hardware needed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My boss has been asleep at his desk for the last half hour.

He's always been a big fan of leading by example...I think maybe I'll take him up on that.

Especially since we have a planned email outage from 11:30 til eternity, because "We will shrink the databases - unfortunately we don't have any experience on the runtime. We will start with the smallest DB. I'm sure, tomorrow in the morning the mailserver will be up and running again."

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone know if you can SAFELY fab older XJ doors on to the newer XJ and still be able to remove them?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what mailserver and what approximate db size?
