THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It sounds like a really whiny regular fuel pump, except the fuel pump in this application just runs at 100% all the time and shouldn't modulate with the engine.

Unless what I'm hearing is the CP3 pulling fuel *through* the in-tank pump. It's basically only at idle and up to half-2/3rds throttle that it makes the noise; at WOT it shuts up. So if the lift pump is struggling and making noise, but the CP3 pulls harder through it and lightens the load, I guess the noise could change.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my buddy ken (with the chop top XJ) wants to turbo his, we "plan" on doing it this winter. if we get his working well, i'll do mine next winter. i'd like to get a nice valvebody for my aw4 first tho, that will help with power regardless.

i doubt 8lbs of boost wont kill the 4.0; even when ran hard for a lot of miles. the hardest part is building the manifold, which he can do... just gotta get a spool gun MIG or TIG and make a log style manifold, or something crazier with a remote mount turbo. then its fairly simple.. plumb oil lines and the rest of the exhuast, and add an adjustable MAP and a SAFC.

Or you can skip that and throw in a cooler engine.

:D

Wait, so if you push the pedal to the floor (regardless of rpm) it shuts up?

I wonder if it has something to do with the air intake?

It hasn't happened consistently enough, but I don't think that's quite right - it seems to shut up when there's the largest demand for fuel. Which based on how these motors run (torque limiting, DBW, all the ECU nonsense) isn't necessarily the same thing as WOT. Shoulda been more specific.

Turbo Joe wants to race for pink slips.
tell him I'll do it if he hasn't put coil retainers or limit straps on his jeep yet :confused1

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got pulled into my boss's office today, and I was worried I had XXXXed something up because he seemed super srs. It turns out they're sending me to Gradall school for a week in February to learn the in's and out's of them because of how well I've been doing. I'm stoked, this is the first off site factory training I've had a chance to do, and I'm going with another guy who's a pretty good shit. Only thing that sucks is I fly out the night of the UJ run, hope I don't break anything major that day!

i think the j-10 might be a tow rig before it becomes a wheeling rig.

J10 + 4BT = awesome tow rig. HERE is pretty much everything you'd need to swap it in. Add a ZF6 into the mix....BAM...awesome.

picked up the 14 bolt last night

Looking like I'm going to chickenfest alooone. In a gay car.

Come down to my house and go as my date ;)

Tow rig races with Jeeps on trailers?

Can I play?......"Dad, I gotta borrow the Dirtymax. I need to use that 660ft/lbs."

:D:D:D Saweet! unexpected $900 check. Gotta love forgetting about having submitted a $900 travel expense form a couple weeks ago

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone have experience with newer Craftsman chainsaws? I've been looking for parts for my '87, and the ones I need are no longer available. I'm looking in the 18-20" range, I don't need to run it every day, but it needs to be rugged. I have a 14" Stihl, and I love it, but I'm not sure I need to spend that much on another saw. Opinions?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

also driving a jeep, I don't have a choice!

I might even drive the MJ to this one. Only have to make it across town before my inspection sticker doesn't matter anymore.

edit: husqvarna/stihl/good brands only. don't waste your money on a crummy brand.http://www.naxja.org/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=245546757
