THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The way I remember it, snow was the best part about chickenfest last year.

Rob, you see the new released pictures of the Dodge Dart? It actually looks pretty sweet, especially the RT version. And it comes in a friggen manual (stupid Chargers). If that car was out already, I would have definitely checked it out.

I'll probably be in my new car. Don't know if it is worth the hassle of going home and taking the Wrangler. Plus, better gas mileage and smoother on the road.

I like it, def a nice mid size car with great options, but that accord you got is really nice to, and kieth don't worry ill prob be showing up with the corrola

Once colin gets his 440 in we all need to take our rigs to a open track night and run em this summer, it would be XXXXing awsome

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't wanna be embarassed by Colin's Jeep motor. I'll run the duramax though :)

pretty accurate. The great part is that I get blamed for it even if it doesn't work when we do it his way, then he says he doesn't care how it gets done, I try to fix things up, he yells at me for not doing it his way, I boggle and then give up caring and do it his way again, we test it again, it fails again. Then I get yelled at again.

:dunno:

oh, they managed to forget to send my direct deposit for a month, so I'm quite a bit behind on cash reserves. Accountant is in tomorrow though :smsoap:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

tow rig races?

I'm not sure mine could hit 60 in the quarter.
I know mine can't :(

only way it'll do 60 is if you drop it out of a C130.

It'll drive over all of yours when it finally gets there, though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i wanna turbo my 4.0. but i feel bad bc its got less than 100k on it so shes a baby, i want it to last. but i also want to swap a 2JZ, and the current motor needs to blow up before i do that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I think there's something up with the fuel system on my Dodge.

Not constantly, but sometimes it makes a rather loud mechanical noise that almost sounds like alternator whine through the speakers. It rises as the engine revs up but it kind of lags behind the engine...so my guess is that it's either the lift pump or CP3 trying to keep up with fuel demand. Then the sound will just go away and everything's fine.

The 2005 CTD's just have a lift pump in the tank, not on the firewall, and unlike the VP44 the CP3 is capable of running without a lift pump. Does that whiny noise symptom sound familiar to anyone?

I dunno. Guess I'll just have to wait until it craps out completely in an unfortunate spot. CP3 is a good $900 or so.

Can you get a fuel pressure gauge on it somewhere? That would eliminate that issue.

Does it do it only while cold or also while hot?

4.0s are <$200 from the JY, forums, etc.
Turbo that sucker and swap a new one in when you blow it up. Repeat until you have the time/money to put a 2JZ in it.

I can probably bring it up via the OBD II, gonna try that tonight.

Usually cold but also sporadically while driving. Next time it gets loud I'm gonna try and get out before it quiets again and see if it's coming from the tank or up by the motor.

There's a fuel pressure sensor on the back of the high-pressure pump that can go bad and cause erratic running (it does seem a bit low on power)...even from RockAuto, just that sensor is $230. So I'd like to narrow it down before throwing parts at it...

Also, even when it's making noise or not running right, there's no smoke...white or black.

my buddy ken (with the chop top XJ) wants to turbo his, we "plan" on doing it this winter. if we get his working well, i'll do mine next winter. i'd like to get a nice valvebody for my aw4 first tho, that will help with power regardless.

i doubt 8lbs of boost wont kill the 4.0; even when ran hard for a lot of miles. the hardest part is building the manifold, which he can do... just gotta get a spool gun MIG or TIG and make a log style manifold, or something crazier with a remote mount turbo. then its fairly simple.. plumb oil lines and the rest of the exhuast, and add an adjustable MAP and a SAFC.
