Whatever 5.61 x 500 ft lbs is.

I'd have to be bound up as fawk for that to happen and for me to immediately dump clutch.

So...driving incredibly stupid

Wrong answer.

I figured out once that when I broke my 35-spline stub, detroit, and drive flange, my motor was making something like a whopping 10-15 ft-lbs.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sooooo you're saying I should be worried?

No, I'm saying there's no point in being worried, because there's nothing you can do about it.

Engines aren't just on/off switches. Build to whatever HP you're planning on, but the only time you'll ever actually hit those numbers is WOT in 4th gear.

A 1.5" 4340 shaft snaps at like 1800 ft-lbs. Best case, you get some super badass alloy, and maybe get 2500 ft-lbs?

Assuming all 4 tires are completely and equally bound, for a combined effort of 10,000 ft-lbs...on my truck it'd take 55 ft-lbs at the crankshaft to blow up all 4 shafts at the same time.

Prove it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Great way to start the day. Storage lot sent me a letter saying my account was 4 months overdue and I owed $440 (I really only owed $110 for this month). Got that straightened out (I think), got to work, and the guy in the cafe only gave me 2 strips of bacon instead of the 3 I usually get with my breakfast.

I want another bacon strip. :(

I'll give ya that. I did wake up which is always a plus. And with this new diet I'm WAY more awake first thing in the morning (holy shit, me? a morning person?) so again, can't complain about that. But between then and now could have been better... I forgot to add my PS pump started making noise again, wtf?! It quiets down after it's running for a few minutes and the reservoir is full so whatever.

And I took the Jeep up to highway speed the past couple days and it seems that my tire vibes/wobble goes away after 60mph but only lasts for a few miles before the vibe/wobble comes back after the tires warm up. Guess at this point I'll just bite the bullet and throw more BBs. Was hoping I wouldn't have to do so.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam you gonna do a stroker or slap Carmelo's engine in?

Or do nothing?

Can't afford to spend on the Jeep right now. The Subaru needs a timing belt in the next few months, i'm on borrowed time on the current one.

I should be able to get the ball rolling on the Jeep engine in a few months.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam you read talyn's thread on using a non stock coil pack right? Should help you if you're using a non-0331 head.

Nope, I haven't. I'll look into it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Are you planning on doing a stroker still though?

Just curious. Like I said you can have that short block if you are.

I'll probably end up throwing Carmelo's old motor in. I'd like to throw the motor on a stand and drop the oil pan to replace the gasket and the RMS and check it to ensure that there aren't metal shavings in the oil. Also, the manifolds would have to come off to install mine. That would be a good time to take a peek at the valves.

I wonder if that gravesdiggerxj guy is gonna post more pictures now :conceited

That is a great idea. It looks like he just extended the wires to the coil and plugged it right in. I'll probably do that when I swap engines.
