In all honesty Mark, the only advice I could see anyone giving you is that one of the parts you replaced is shitty, the heater core sucks, or something could be obstructing the heater core like a mouse nest or some shit.
I'd probably just pull the HVAC box and check it out it's not TOO bad on the first gen XJs. While you're in there, just replace the heater core.

I'm debating sucking it up and going to pick up that gas version of the NV4500 up in Lowell for $600.
I can't find the diesel versions for less than $1000. That's if I can even find them.
I might try to see if they'll take $500 or something for it. They list it as in good condition, but has 200k miles on it.

What do you think of the NP241 planetaries holding up to a 440? 6 gear not 3 gear. I would think they'd be fine?
