Who else makes steel beadlock wheels besides Allied and MRW?

Oh.
Little bit over 102".
Conveniently the same as a 2-door explorer, so I'll just leave the leaf springs under it and have a rolling chassis until it comes time to do the backhalf.
Needs 3" above & around a helmet.
edit: I've also decided to use a full-size person this time around instead of myself for testing seating position and clearances.
Sweet. XJ is what, 101 or something? I loved that on 35s. At least for rockcrawling.
Balls, I definitely don't have 3" above and around a helmet in my MJ. I'd have to chop the sheetmetal roof.

Yeah that's what I figure, I never had any problems at that length in my XJ. Should be a pretty similar footprint...kinda what I was going for. The seating position and weight distribution are going to be much further back though.
You don't need that for anything around here...planning ahead for Modified class @ KOH. I was never really comfortable with the amount of space I had in the XJ, although it got a lot better once I cut the interior A-pillar bars out.
You can do it, but you gotta have the seat real low, which gives you shit visibility and low-hanging transfer case.
assuming at least one of my vehicles is in good enough shape to make it there, I'm up for being your official 911-caller if you need someone to be there.I'm adding another 150 lbs over the front axle
Do they ever open up Line Mtn to just...pre running or something?
Or is it only open for racing?
Just wondering where I can go to test stuff out in the spring.
I'll probably bug Billy about using the backyard...
Nope...just the racing days. And unless you make an effort to get to the RCRocs races, probably SOL there too.
Biggest thing is getting runtime under power. Even if it's just a smooth dirt loop, which is almost what the RC loop is anyway. Going fast for a few minutes at a time doesn't really let you know about cooling issues or endurance stuff. I did over 30 laps on the RC loop without stopping once, just to go until they either fflagged me or something went wrong. Finally the front driveshaft fell out.
Chris, what are your plan for the SHO motor? Why not go with a small block, I assume weight? Is it the V6 or V8? Not really a critique like you asked, just trying to figure out your plans.
Just trying something different. I'm sick of LS motors, i know they're good, but i'm bored with 'em at this point.
The one I have is the 3.0 V6, and i basically got the whole car for free. I'll probably set it up with an aluminum flywheel and just do a fresh timing belt, valve adjustment, bottom end bearings, and seals/gaskets for now. With my target weight for this rig, that already puts my power-to-weight about even with an average 400-hp Ultra4 car, with a shit-ton less rotating mass. The goal here is snappy acceleration, not top speed, although it should end up around 80 MPH at redline in low range (9000 RPM). This build is all about optimizing for the east coast and wide-open top end isn't a big factor.
The other part is learning curve...i know this thing is gonna be worlds apart from my XJ. If i get used to it and my limiting factor is power, there's a ton of aftermarket for this motor and a small turbo reliably puts it over 300 hp, and when your car only weighs 3000 lbs, even small hp gains are big.
Plus, the six-cylinder class at line mountain is probably the most competitive class there, i know a lot of theguys in it, and it's always fun when a 6-cyl guy overalls the race. Which does happen on occasion, and kinda proves it's not all about motor.
And if it really sucks, i should still have enough room to drop in a small block if i change my mind.
