THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ditto, except I'm not going this weekend. :( I can't wait to get out of the office tonight.

Going to take tonight off from the jeep other than some quick grinding/drilling and painting (my back is still hurting quite a bit, going to get that checked again and then relax for a night) but will have the trackbar bracket burned on tomorrow night. After that it's just a matter of bolting the trackbar up and adjusting steering stops and I'll be rolling again. I was thinking of trying to last-minute-plan and show up wheeling this weekend but decided that I can't miss my 24D class on Sat morning. If I miss it i have to reschedule for sometime in the middle of February and just want to get this course done ASAP so I can try and get my probation ended early.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I swear you spend more time relaxing, thinking about doing work on your jeep, and posting about doing work on your jeep, than anyone else who posts in this thread.

Hell, everyone else who posts in this thread, combined.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm hoping to be down there by 5-6 on Thursday.

You guys showing up at 3 am again?

if the vdub blows a brakeline

im trying to travel by day. warmer with no windows

edit: for reference, my 1.5" tie rod hit my RuffStuff D60 cover at full lock, and I just let it do that for 4 and a half years.

my tie rod has been hitting my cover since 2007. it rubs the paint off. its not a spring though, so im not worried about the change in spring rate

steering: stock everything. except V8 ZJ tie rod. BAM DONE cost me 20 bucks.

Use tie rod as a skid plate to bounce over rocks, do whatever you want, no breakage. At least on my heavy ass (for a 33") retreads.

MMMMMMMMOTORCYLCE PARTS

This "winter" project I had planned very well might turn into "late fall."

I already have most of the parts I need/want at home or en route.

Shuddup :rattle:

:D I like relaxing, what can I say? And most of the time I spend in this thread is at work.

But lately I have actually been spending quite a bit of time working on stuff after work and and over the weeknds, time split between helping my father w/ his office, the Jeep, the bike(s), and other cars. I acutally started enjoying doing shit rather than being lazy.

Now it just takes me 4 hours to do what it would take most of you 1-2 hours to do :rolleyes:I'm getting better about it. Hopefully this motivation sticks with me and I'll see some of you guys by 2012

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not sure that my V8 ZJ tie rod would have lasted on 35s.

I bent/tweaked my 1.5" tie rod in multiple areas after a year.

i currently have a 1.5" banana tie rod

you should quit naxja and join a motorcycle forum

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tie rod is like a wet noodle. I don't mind :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tie rod was always bent in some fashion.

When it got bad, I'd usually take it off and flip it so it bowed outwards, and then repeat once I smashed it enough times.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the downfall to my steering is i use the bigass tie rod end that you connect the draglink to.

bent the first time a rock touched it.

good news is it only bent so much until it hit something else and it cant bent no more

crossover ftw!

comment about my jeep being off the road in 3..2...

crossover ftw!

I switched to full hydro.

i have been running the same drag link, tie rod, and tie rod ends since 2007. and my jeep steers, and it cost me $200. which i would assume is less than full hydro and crossover :finger:

i go through steering setups less than i go through unibodies, so i really dont care lol
