THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's not the computer that keeps me awake, and reading would be even worse, as I'll read a whole novel in one sitting sometimes. It's the fact that when 10-11:00 rolls around I get a serious second wind for the day.

I could force myself to try and sleep then, sure...tried it before. And I spend 4 hours staring at the ceiling wondering why I'm even bothering.

It wasn't the computer that kept me up either, but being in front of the light of the screen before going to bed made it a bit more difficult to fall asleep sometimes. I HIGHLY recommend getting Flux (F.lux) for the computer though, dims the monitor and adjusts the colors starting at around 6PM. I noticed a significant improvement when I started using that utility

I used to be the exact same way where I would get a 2nd wind at about that time each night and lay awake for hours. I just had to force myself to go to sleep before I reached that 2nd wind, easier said than done :laugh3:. Now I will shut the computer off around 8 or 9 or so right when I start feeling a bit tired, sit down with a book (I SUCK at reading so going through a novel or any book in one sitting would be damn near impossible), and read until I get to the point where I think I could sleep and pass out. Doesn't matter if it's at 9:30 or 11:30. If I can't sleep within 30-60 minutes I will get up and do some other shit until I get tired again.

For a Honda, probably like $25.
For a German or Italian car, probably $225.

Chris, I just thought I'd mention to you that my MJ was running at 195 both laps of our race.

I only got below 4k rpms once or twice.

It's magical.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

they are about 40 bucks aftermarket, but cant find one locally and we need it now so gotta go through the dealer

That's the other reason I'm not fixing mine. Even if I were to pull the motor, drill out the bolts, put it back together...it's still got that mystery overheating issue.

It was better with the new fan, not great, but unfortunately the only place I can really load it long enough to see if it overheats or not is on a trailride or during a race. Which becomes an expensive trial-and-error at this point.

I swear this all started when I hooked the temp gauge back up. It never overheated before that, even hauling ass at 4k RPM for 20+ minutes at the Hammers.

BTW, speaking of magical. How much do you think I can get for my OEM steering box spacer? It's pretty much the only factory part left on my XJ and it's still in one piece, so it must be magic.

WHAT!?

hydro assist probably helped, but thats insane, especially after bending a sector shaft

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How do I do that if I'm not a 'member' of your dumb 'club'?

You are a guest of a member of a dumb club.

If you want to go just tell me and I'll add you as a guest. I'll email the coordinator right now.

They said the deadline was August 23, but I'm sure if you're just a guest it's not an issue.

It would cost you $52. Includes a few raffle tickets, Sat night BBQ and Sunday morning breakfast as well as camping for Friday/Saturday night.

Exactly.

And especially since the frame rail by the steering box took a collision into a tree in 2002 that had to be pulled back by a frame straightener, and since then has been cracked/creased/mangled in 4 places, separated from the bottom layer and bent/welded back numerous times, wheeled for a month with NO hydro assist, had 4 different steering boxes bolted to it...

A JCR one is like $50, I figure mine's worth at least double that because it's an authentic, original Jeep part.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Even my steering box spacer came out in many pieces. Wth.

So thinking about it this morning sucked. Bridgewater State University started school again recently but the rain today caused all the girls to be wearing lots of clothes. On top of that BSU always puts out crossing guards for the first week or two of school and they cause more traffic than they help. I sat in 15-20 minutes of traffic today while the traffic/crossing guards held up traffic for no reason (or they neglected to direct traffic causing HUGE backups). So increased traffic and nothing to look at, the commute today sucked.

I bet you're going to go to take it out to sell it someone and it's going to crumble in your hand.

:D

XXXX it, why not.

Maybe I'll take the 5.9 ZJ on a road trip, haven't stretched it out in a while and I'd like to at least feel like I still fit in with you Jeep idiots.

Let me know the details but unless your dumb club is dumber than I thought, I'll cya there Friday @ 3.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just left the spring shop and there was. A guy with an astro van he just slid into a curb with. He thinks his main leaf was bent. I looked at the rear end and it was XXXXed. Ross is straighter than the axle tube.
