Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
It wasn't the computer that kept me up either, but being in front of the light of the screen before going to bed made it a bit more difficult to fall asleep sometimes. I HIGHLY recommend getting Flux (F.lux) for the computer though, dims the monitor and adjusts the colors starting at around 6PM. I noticed a significant improvement when I started using that utility
I used to be the exact same way where I would get a 2nd wind at about that time each night and lay awake for hours. I just had to force myself to go to sleep before I reached that 2nd wind, easier said than done :laugh3:. Now I will shut the computer off around 8 or 9 or so right when I start feeling a bit tired, sit down with a book (I SUCK at reading so going through a novel or any book in one sitting would be damn near impossible), and read until I get to the point where I think I could sleep and pass out. Doesn't matter if it's at 9:30 or 11:30. If I can't sleep within 30-60 minutes I will get up and do some other shit until I get tired again.
It's not the computer that keeps me awake, and reading would be even worse, as I'll read a whole novel in one sitting sometimes. It's the fact that when 10-11:00 rolls around I get a serious second wind for the day.
I could force myself to try and sleep then, sure...tried it before. And I spend 4 hours staring at the ceiling wondering why I'm even bothering.
