Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Y'all slow this morning... Hopefully not much eventful when you go outside.

WAKE UP HAPPY MONDAY!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Spent yesterday driving around clearing downed trees for people and making $$. Our power went out for most of the day but was back on by 5 or 6 PM. Was hanging out in Whitman at my buddy's place and he still didn't have power when I left at 10PM.

Glad I took today off

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Laptop plugged into the generator and tethering on my droid FTW!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm thinking that some local sprint towers are down, I have had shitty service since yesterday. Just tried to call autozone and could barely make a call. Plus autozone has no power so they can't get on the computers and order the parts I need. Maybe I'll just go to advance and get the seal kit even though they want to charge $10 more for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My phone was coming in awful for most of the day yesterday, I have Verizon. It would take forever to connect to the internet, it wouldn't connect to my voicemail, and it wouldn't tether. Seems to be working fine now though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, mine wasn't working well yesterday either but I just assumed the storm had something to do with that. Since it's still shitty today I'm assuming the local towers must have lost power or been damaged. Oh well.

Anyone have experience using a 3-turn lock to lock durango box instead of modifying it to be 3.5 turns? I'm debating whether I should tear the box down, rebuild w/ a new seal kit, and take the spacers out so it can do 3.5 turns or if I should just install it and run it as-is. Is the extra 0.25 turns in each direction worth the work required to modify it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Shit, I'm supposed to have a hearing for a ticket at the attleboro district court today (45 minutes away). I just tried calling to see if they are open and got no answer (and no answering service) and the attleboro website is down so I can't get any info. I really don't want to drive out there just to find out they are closed and since there was no automated answering service I'm inclined to believe they may have lost power.

:( I went to all the local places (including NAPA) and checked the boxes they had in stock, all were 3-turn otherwise I would have just bought it new.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had to shut power off at the main because only half of my house would loose it. So we called the electric company and they told us all of our appliances will get effed up if we keep it on.

So kow i hqve no school and no power. How can i work on my jeep if I cant even get into the garage :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Still no power here. Work is closed and there's pretty much no power on the island

how do you know? idk if mine was a true "3.5" turn box but i hit both steering stops on my D30 and i never adjusted them from stock.

we still have power here...

also, the only appliances that are going to risk damage are ones that require 220V. 120V equipment will be fine so long as it is on the side of the panel that still has power (if it's on the other side it obviously just won't have any power.) Sounds like the transformer powering your neighborhood dropped a leg.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wonder when my shocks are going to show up...last week when I ordered them I got an invoice in an email, but no shipment/tracking information. Maybe I'll give them a ringaling sometime today

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I guessed right  Drove to attleboro only to be told "powers out, we will be sending out a reschedule notice once we open up again." Talk about a waste of a morning. Time to try calling the auto shop to see if they have power.

Some of the stores had a note on the website saying how many turns lock to lock. Other stores let me open the product, take the steering gear out of the box, and manually check how many turns lock to lock there were. All were 3 turns.

Yesterday during the storm our power was intermittent for a while and there was a loud humming noise every now and then. My brother thought it was wind blowing over the chimney but I thought it sounded electrical and figured it was a transformer. Stepped outside and heard it again, sounded like electricity arcing. Went for a walk, ended up a stick landed on the power lines and they were arcing in front of my friends house 1/4 mile away. was pretty crazy.
