THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And as long as one of those joints is a bushing, it's not a problem.

For example:

I know it's been done, asshats who do crappy spring-over conversions make Z-bent drag links all the time. You'll usually find they have the same results as the people who complain about having a dead spot with inverted-T steering.
Why does one joint have to be a bushing vs 2 heims or TRE?

I've seen Z-bent drag links all the time and I would agree with you that they would drive like turd and give a huge dead spot due to stiffness. But it sounds like Adam is talking about putting a small bend in his drag link just to clear a mount. I can't see a 10-15* bend in something like 1.25x0.375 tubing causing huge problems, but I don't know what size he's using. I also can't imagine that buckling or even flexing all that much, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

its bending out, a bend in the same plane as the link moves to steer. so when i turn, i will turn the bend, which will turn the TRE instead of pushing the tire outward.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just hit whatever it's hitting with a hammer until it's not in the way anymore.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much is it hitting by?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

clearence the trackbar mount mayhaps?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

needs moar hammer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah I'm with Adam

HI-5!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i can a little bit, like i said i gotta drive it/flex it to see where its hitting and by how much.. i can clearance it, but dont have a lot of room to play with. my two solutions i have in my brain now are to either get a longer high steer arm to move the draglink forward, or get a drop pitman arm so i can drop the angle of that and then drop the trackbar... and i'd be able to cut 2-3" of the trackbar mount off.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

inverted T / inverted Y link or separate knuckle to knuckle tie rod and drag link?

If it's the latter I'd put the bend in and forget about it, otherwise might think about it a little more.

It looks like crossover w/ high steer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

or next time you build an axle dont put your XXXXin trackbar in the way of your drag link

DUHHHH

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sell it to me and build a 60. I'll fix it :eyes:

EDIT: I forget if you're in the city for work or not. I'm sitting like 2 blocks from NYSE right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, are you going to have to move to NYC?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

XXXX. that.

NEVER! I told them that when I signed up for this nonsense. I drive down here most Mondays, get a hotel for the night, and drive home Tuesday. I will turn in my resignation before I move down here. The nice thing is, since I rarely drive anymore aside from going to NYC, and the company covers my gas for driving there and back, a tank usually lasts till I'm driving down again, and I haven't bought gas myself in like 2 or 3 weeks now.
