THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

XXXX. that.

NEVER! I told them that when I signed up for this nonsense. I drive down here most Mondays, get a hotel for the night, and drive home Tuesday. I will turn in my resignation before I move down here. The nice thing is, since I rarely drive anymore aside from going to NYC, and the company covers my gas for driving there and back, a tank usually lasts till I'm driving down again, and I haven't bought gas myself in like 2 or 3 weeks now.
You should drive the 5 ton through the city.

If I trusted it to make the drive I might :roflmao:

I'm not sure my boss would appreciate the approx. 280 dollar diesel bill, and I'm almost certain the NYPD and various armed forces stationed in the city would NOT be amused by me driving such a vehicle into the financial district... that is, if I managed to get it down FDR Drive without decapitating myself, getting stuck, or collapsing a bridge.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I forgot how much I love driving.

Now I just gotta get my buddy to get out of work early today and get home so I can take the motorcycle for a spin before 19:00.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

did you get your license back? Did you take the breath test?

Yes and yes. Hardship license for now but I am eligible to get my full license back on Sept. 29th.

Long story short my lawyer said there wasn't much room to fight the case since I was in the vehicle when the officer showed up and took the breath test. We ended up pulling the court date in and I got a CWOF last Monday.

wow that was quick. I have a good chance of getting off mine. I refused the breath test. But i have to wait it out and go through the whole court b.s.

I may very well have declined the breath test if I was given accurate information. The police officer told me that the penalty for declining the breath test was 180 days mandatory license suspension though in reality it is only 90 days (my lawyer informed me that the penalty had been decreased recently). No way I could do 180 days w/o a license but I would have been more likely to decline if I knew it was 'only' 90... though it is REAL nice to have the license back so my folks don't have to worry about driving me. Particularly where my kid siblings start school next Monday and that would have complicated the ride since I go 45 minutes one direction for work and the kids are 20 minutes in the other direction for school.

But yeah... that one inaccurate detail wasn't enough to make the case worth taking to court... yeah there was a chance we could have won the case but the odds were against me so I just cut my losses and went with the CWOF. If I took it to court the lawyer fees would probably have been pushing $5000-$7000 and I got away with only $1500 in lawyer fees. Yeah I have this on my record but it's not a conviction and I don't plan on getting a 2nd offense so I should be fine. Insurance will just suck for a few years (but the $$ I saved on lawyer fees will offset the insurance surcharges a bit)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Changed a set of tires for the first time today with air tools, wow that was nice. Gets it done in about a 1/4 of the time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm passing on that cherokee but if anyone wants a cheap jeep text me

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I took the breath test 4 times at 4 different police stations, with no admissable results, and got a refusal ticket anyway. :D

You guys and your silly hardship licenses.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm just glad to be driving again. Speaking of which I think I will order a pizza and go pick it up to celebrate being able to drive again :laugh3:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I say that only because such a thing does not exist in NJ. :|

Nothing happens until the matter is settled in court...then it's either all or nothing.
