THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

on the cross country trip myself and adam both went about 5000-6000 miles on rotella 15-40. and it still looked good by the time we changed it. thats the longest i ever went without an oil change. usually its whenever i feel like it. maybe 2500-3500 miles

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm getting the following codes:

P0505: Idle control system malfunction
P0123: TPS Sensor A circuit high input
P1391: Manufacturer control ignition system or misfire
P0122: TPS sensor A circuit low input
P0740: TCC circuit malfunction

I think the torque converter may be the culprit, or possibly the TC solenoid might not be letting it lock up?

HALP!

change the TPS... 45 bucks. also, clean the throttle body out good.

TPS is brand new, so is the IAC. I cleaned out the throttle body real good since it was running even worse before swapping the IAC (would just stall if i hooked up the CCV valve line).

I also did a torque converter stall test, as per FSM. Aka yank the ebrake in D and mash the pedal to the floor. It wouldnt go past 1200rpm in either D or reverse. Per the FSM that would either mean the engine isn't giving me enough horsepower to overcome that low TC stall speed, or something is wrong with the torque converter (hence me thinking the TC may be the culprit... or its solenoid).
I also tried unhooking the transmission computer fuses and shifting manually, like the FSM says. It felt mostly the same through all of the gears... sort of feels like it's starting out in overdrive and not shifting out of overdrive.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I do that all the time. I used to think "I wonder if anyone can see my nuts?" Then I realized, no one has that good of eyesight to see them from 5 feet away.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I won't be around next Wednesday, probably down in DC.

I think you should come up some time this weekend.

i have a stupid jeep to drag out of the woods this weekend.

and i need to GSD if i wanna wheel at nac-fest.

xj= needs a lot of metal welded to it

j-10= needs recovery points, needs 35's, needs some fender removed, needs e-brake cables, needs u joint, needs guages

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

pass elec wiring is done just gott deal with jumping the NSS wires, drivers side elec wich is just plugging shit in once i get the fuel rail back in, its amazing how easy the wiring on a OBD1 XJ is

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Screw you then.

Yeah the engine bay harness is pretty simple once you ge tto just plugging stuff in. Fairly straightforward.

The interior harness is where it turns into a clusterXXXX.

colin do you know if crown is open saturdays?

He's usually there from 9 a.m. to 1-2 p.m.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone think i should attempt to truly "taco" my jeep?

just keep wheeling it. no fixing anything. and see what happens

Fix the a-pillar and the shaft and then ignore anything that goes wrong until it stops moving or you can't fit into it anymore.

DON'T cut up those wide track flares (is what people always say on ifsja). but, your Jeep, do what you want. :D I will admit, I left my J20 out front at the store figuring you were coming by...I guess I'll bring it in out back and do the work I've been putting off after all.

Colin was close. 10-2 on Saturdays but sometimes I stay way later. PM or call me at least a day ahead of time if you have anything in mind so I make sure I have it for you. http://sites.google.com/site/crownautooutlet/
