THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah the .023 isn't an issue. Looks like not enough heat and/or too much wire speed.
x2

And like others said, keep the gun close.

I think I keep my gas at 20ish...if you go much above that, the turbulent flow actually draws oxygen into the stream of gas leaving the gun and it becomes counterproductive.

Makes sense, I just always associate .023 to sheetmetal now since that's all I've ever used it for

And to your previous note, I've had several lbs of sand fall out of the MJ. Sam must have driven through a dozen or so sandstorms.

Like anything, has its place. Obviously there's more going on there than just HDR and I think it works overall.

But yes, often overused.

I just spent $150 at McMaster.

That place is worse than Harbor Freight.

My McMaster order should be arriving today, if it's not here already.

Got a DPST weatherproof toggle switch and a box of 25 5/16-UNF 12-point flange head bolts, aka the bolts for a 1310 double-cardan. For $8/box, I'm quite tired of digging out used bolts from junk driveshafts with rounded-off points and dirty/stretched threads, and I'd like to have a few spares.

Ordering from that place is scary easy too. It always seems like there should be one more confirmation step in the order process somewhere.

At least the stuff is all worth the money you paid for it.

Speaking of which, glad I didn't toss out those tire spoons after bending them, we used one to un-invert the shackles on denny's CJ on the last run.

True, it does have it's place. IMO, its place is landscapes where there is funky lighting and it would be hard to expose each area evenly. I've seen some really tastefully done HDR's that you can't tell are HDR'd.

More often than not, it's unnecessary IMO.

It almost makes it look like a cartoon, but it's still too realistic to be cartoony. It would have been better b&w and left sharp, I think.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wonder how many different forums will get to read about the fact that I bent and replaced Colin's BJ press.

Is that sarcasm...?

I was never even close to mad about that when it happened. I was just pointing out the fact that it has a lot to do with how you use it. That situation was a perfect example. You also claimed yourself as my buddy, and I'm pretty sure this and NEOW are the only forums I've posted that on...?
